My first post, been lurking for a few weeks. It seems like trading CFD in Australia is not allowed for those of us in America. But, it seems that stock is okay. I don't want to keep $10K in a separate account for this, at least not at first, so IB didn't work for me. What other firms could you recommend? Is IB the cheapest? Outside of IB, is ~$15 AUD / trade going to be the bottom for commissions? Are there any other more piecemealed options for trading in Australia like software + eSignal + a brokerage? I don't understand how these separate pieces would fit together though, or if it's even possible. I realize it'd be expensive. Thanks for helping to clear this up.
