why is it a hard decision for you to quit the job? is it a tenured position that you will never get back if you quit? you have amazing returns in just a few months. what is your average holding time per trade and leverage used?
Looks like I have to prove myself here with big account and big lots. That's not what i came for. I got few good tips from some traders who understood what I'm trying to achieve. Trading is a passion for me and I have strong reasons to make it a success, no matter what.
Quitting job is the last thing I would do and the account is a small one which i tested my strategy. It worked well for few months. I can get a job easily, if i screw up in trading. My parents are old and live 20 hours flight away and I wanna spend or reach them asap when they have a medical emergency. That can't happen with a job. So a successful trading career (passion too) is the only option I have. when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it. - Paulo Coelho
I have seen the same screen shots everyone else has. I suppose it could be a big elaborate scheme...but his knowledge of the subject matter indicates otherwise.
I recommend you not quit your job and I don't recommend you use your wife as a backup unless she specifically agrees to do such. In addition, you should have > 50k if you're going to venture into the Emini YM futures for risk management purposes although you know anyone with a smalll trading account can trade the Emini YM futures. Regardless, allowing your wife to believe she may need to support your family can put too much pressure on your relationship with her. Your backup should be your job...not your wife. wrbtrader
if I were you, I would quit job and focus on trading since you can fall back on your wife for a while before you find another job in case trading does not go well. when I left staff scientist position at the national institute of health in 2008, the decision was much harder than you since I basically gave up my career. if you leave academic for more than one year, it would be very hard to go back.
I posted pics in real time. Not a screen grab. A pic of IBTWS and TDA's front ends with PNL for the day. You'll find 'em on ET as I am the only one who has done so.
I am a software engineer. I can make my account looks like a 30 billion dollar one and post the the best screenshots which would make you all drool. Let me tell you, I haven't seen anyone posting the real account details other than hilmy in my last 10 years. This guy who says he made 2 million in a day is a joke.
