Does anyone in the US trade foreign stock exchanges? I'm looking to have a greater selection of stocks to choose from and to lower my exposure some. I will probably start with looking at trading Canadian stocks. If you trade foreign markets, do you have to pay taxes in that country?
The UK has a 0.5% tax on the value of every buy order. Sells are tax free. You pay your local CGT or income taxes.
