Perhaps, but also smart people like to see who the winners in a group are and try to learn mostly from them.
not in this field, knowledge here is not shared and it is not transferable also if one here needs to live by example he does not have the right stuff
Sure.. few would post their magic system. However, I respectfully disagree with the idea that there is nothing to be gained by isolating who winners are and reading what they have to say, but thank you for sharing. There is at least one large winner (Lescor) who publicaly attributes some of his success to reading and posting on ET. Years ago I knew a few other big winning traders who found value by reading those they respected. Obviously, having seeking personal relationships with the right people is even better. But sure.. most spin their wheels and we must all judge where the valuable things are in life.
qxr is a bit cynical on the sharing as much of it is via private threads but he is absolutely correct on transferability. You can get ideas and concepts from others but if you are going to earn a living trading, you have to forge your own path and create your own plan and that requires a lot of time and effort. There are no shortcuts.
Sure. No one is speaking of shortcuts. However, finding and listening to the right people is a skill. Sometimes a critical skill. Few in any area are completely self-taught champions.
Most of us had help along the way but everyone sees things differently and has different behavioral characteristics so you will never trade just like a mentor.
i am not talking of winners isolation i am talking about newbies motivation the people in this filed of human enterprise effectively saying to everybody: i will do what nobody(or very few ) could ! That's the statement ! so what a heck one needs confirmation from the winners that it can be done for?
but when people after making the statement (i will make what nobody could) come back here and ask for reassurance , my first impulse is to tell them get a f@ck out of here
