  1. You made me register so I can answer this question. lol. I think you answered your own question. David sold AMGEN at 56.90 and NOT Applied Materials :p

Yes they both start with AM.., but they are different stocks.

    Good trading, David.

mbg just made a typo, he meant to say AMGN. David's screen shot shows a fill for 2400 AMGN at $56.90 @10:27, but AMGN didn't print at 56.90 until 12:24, 2 hours later.

  3. Now I see what you mean. Sorry, I thought I had an easy one to make my first post, but I messed it up didn't I :(

I'm not suggesting that David is fabricating his trades, but he better have a good explanation or he will lose credibility. Good eyes mbg. Sorry I jumped at you.

  4. AAA-
I hear ya on that time issue...I'm in NY myself..but I keep thinking..."ok, up at 5am work until 1pm , at the beach by 1:30, and at that time I'm sure it's full of young college girls who are skipping class..."
I'm might be 30, but I can pass for 22...so sweet college girls just come to papa!
Plus Rtharp sounds like he enjoys throwing back some cold ones and cruising the ladies....and thats what I live for...well ok , I just like having fun in general..but ladies always make it so much better.

  5. "Why would anyone live anywhere else? No State Income Tax, free food, 5 bedroom house (brand new) for $150,000....great weather...and, most important......a great place to trade from.. "

Because unlike that culturally barren wasteland Las Vegas, NYC has it all, and it is worth the extra expense. After all, its not what you die with, it's what you did when you were alive.

  6. macal425,

I live and trade in Denver where it is MTN time. That means I traded AMGN at exactly the time indicated. There is obviously a two hour difference. Also, the order book reflects the time on your PC, and this needs reset over days which I don't bother with. I pay attention to the confirms from the clearing firm, so here is a copy. Satisfied? :D

  7. Final point, Remember, the RealTick time stamps based on the PC time, and this has nothing to do with the actual time Nasdaq see's the trade. If the PC clock is off, or on a different time zone, the RealTick order book will reflect it. What really matters is what is printed to the tape, so here is another copy of the TerraNova site confirms based on what is reported to Nasdaq. If you want to see further confirmation, I will post my blotter from Instinet (ICS) after these trades clear and are posted to the TNT web site Monday. You let me know.

I am simply posting my trades because participants to this site have asked me to based on trading ideas I have shared in prior posts and trades I made at the live trading event in NYC at the OTE. I trying to help people learn here, thats why I post my losers as well as the winners. Everything out in the open my friend. :)

  8. DAVID, I believe your trades are real! However, your captured screen is flawed. If you look at the original picture it says that you sold 2400 AMGN @ 10:27:56 and 600 @ 12:26:15 (two hours later). http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=43681

Your latest attachment has the 600 shares traded at 12:26, but the other 2400 traded a minute before and not two hours like in the first attachment. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=43779

Without accusing you of fabricating the trades, I must say, and I'm sure you will agree that it is strange that the times don't match on the OES and the Trade Report. I mean two hours difference between the 2400 and the 600 on one report and only one minute difference between the 2400 and 600 on another report. You might want to bring it up to RealTick's attention.

As I said before, this was good trading on Friday by you.

    Actually, no. :)

I thought you might say something about the 2-hr time zone difference because so many of your reported trades look like they could've been filled based on EST or MNT time.
However, some other numbers don't line up.

Your report shows that you bought AMGN 5 times from 56.60 through 56.64 between 10:22 and 10:26, then sold:
       10:27:56 Sold 2400 AMGN @56.90

Your purchase right before this was:
       10:26:23 Bought 900 AMGN @56.61

Adjusting for 2-hour difference, your trades occured at 12:27:56 and 12:26:23 EST, but the T&S for AMGN doesn't show a 0.29-pt move in any 4-minute period between 10:20 to 13:18 EST, let alone in a 90-second window as your execution report shows. In fact, take a look at T&S and you'll see that from the time the last print at 56.61 and the first print at 56.90 was ~8 minutes.

Now how about this one. Your AMAT trade:
       10:16:30 Sold 1000 AMAT @43.99

At 10:16 EST a 43.99 print was right-on, but if we believe your 2-hour time zone adjustment, then are you telling us that you sold 1000 AMAT @43.99 at 12:16 EST?? Look at AMAT and tell me when after 10:30 EST it EVER printed at 43.99.

  10. Mark...thanks for the comment. I'm simply going to put this to bed Monday and post the final clearing blotter from Instinet once the trades settle. I can't believe I spent this much time on this. I'm trying to contribute to this web site w/ educational information and by teaching by DOING (trading).

I must admit I am getting tired of the negative participants...marketwise does very well with its methods of trading and TerraNova does as well where we do live trading each Thursday on Web-X...I am considering staying with that format since this forum environment can be distracting. I am new to it and Baron has a wonderful site here, but unfortunately for a small group of participants (not the majority) they use this to tear people down no matter what they offer...I don't live my life that way and for those that do, here is another educational nugget...Read a book called "Learned Optimism" by Dr. Martin Seligman. Mark, I appreciate your input. Best of Success!:)
