Had to take this sell, but I will be reviewing to see if there is anything that should have justified re-entering the trade that I didn't see in realtime. Sometimes that's just the way it is.

Chart for the VTI long entry. Excuse the yellow plots on the lower pane. They're just something I keep specifically on this total market ETF to show the recent swing ranges. They're getting narrower/choppier if you hadn't noticed.

My working (always evolving) assumption is that we can expect a pull back into the current range after testing the December highs in the major indexes, which are close at hand. There is a real possibility of resuming a slow / low volatility grind back upward after an initial pullback, but I think a more substantial move toward the bottom of the range (or beyond) is more likely. We'll see. Could be none of the above.

Thanks for the link. I'm not advocating for or against anyone else trading them, just explaining why I don't. If I want ?x (can't think of that many reasons, personally), I'll increase my size and/or use margin. Consider that I'm not a young trader, so my frame of reference and tolerance for risk is different than someone who has 40 years to harness drawdown and build a trading account. Having said that, as a matter of opinion I do think that less "beta" is probably a better path for most younger / developing traders. I'm sure there are many threads on this site debating this question. It's a good one to research and decide, for one's self, how you want to pursue your goals.

    Thanks, again, for the input.
