Hi Traders I would like to here from anyone who trades a strategy based on Darvas box method. I am in the process of developing / testing a darvas box method based on short time frames. All thought and comments encouraged.
I worked up a system based on the "box" method. IMO you could do much worse. The strength of the method is that it separates short term price action against you from the move you're trying to catch in a reasonable way. I do not believe the features he was targeting exist in many markets on shorter time horizons though. You'll recall what happened to him when he moved to NYC and tried to trade too fast.
I programmed one for an auto strategy years ago. Abandoned it because the trades were far and few between. Now that could have been because of the markets behavior at the time or a number of factors. However, you got me thinking, I will crack it open tonight and revisit just for fun.
