I've been following Jason Shapiro of Unknown Market Wizards fame for some time. In a recent post he mentioned he had worked for Gelber Group earlier in his career. He brought up the trading contest in a post. If you click on home near the top of the rules you'll see that only 30 people entered the contest last year. Two of last year's contestants were hired as traders. In a world filled with sketchy trading arcades, this looked like a legit shot at a prop job for someone that wants it.
i applied for the contest - they will turn me down lol i am thinking they have millions apply and only pick 30 rather than just 30 applied.
Gelber is a legit firm. I know they were good back in the floor days and prior to tech taking over. A famous spoofer worked there. The discretionary part stands out as praying for a miracle.
