Doobs, I have a 4 monitor stand with Samsung 22" screens...but mine clamps to an extended corian solid surface overhang...my question to you is: If your stand is free standing ...how stable does it appear to be?
I used to use the 4x one. My advice is to either bolt the stand to the desk and add a support board behind your desk. The darn thing can flip.
Not much to show. I couldn't find any manufactured monitor stand that would address my needs, let alone expensive, I made mine with simplicity - just some crates and fibre boards, and some simple $29.99 mounts screwed to the boards and brackets holding the boards together. You haven't seen my pictures? V1.0 setup: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?threadid=43661&perpage=6&pagenumber=428 V2.0 setup: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=2727114#post2727114 I am currently on V3.0, with a few more monitors added, arranged in a bullet shape aimed to all point to my eyes. No I don't post new pictures any more. Every time I did so, only invited attacks.
I have all the equipment here in boxes. Don't have time to set it up today, most likely will be tomorrow. It's a free-standing desk stand (has a base). Clamping to, or drilling into, the desk is not an option as it's a glass-top desk. Wall mounting is out as well, since there are windows behind the desk. I hope this stand is sturdy, but if not, I'll return it and use multiple stands.
who cares about them... i say the more haters the better.. let them think about you all of their day! haha.. post those dirty trade station pictures.. that shit is a mess.. but hey you should see mine!
+1. i'm not trying to be one of the haters you mentioned - i'm just looking out for your safety. it's a simple math equation that can determine if your obit says "a trader bled out today after computer equipment broke his glass desk and stabbed him 24 times" (glass can only support a certain amount of weight).
