Yea, true. You can always have the black swan happen in trading and not in poker. That's the one thing that I don't like about trading. My job is salary+ bonus though so at least I'm not risking any of my own capital. This is probably one reason it feels less stressful too. It's always good to know that I can go to another profession making 100K+. Again bankroll management is a huge part of trading and poker.
You are doing it wrong. You should try having everything exactly planned out in advance. When the time comes, just hit the execute button if the criteria are met. If you are trying to make your battle plan after the battle has already started, it is no wonder you are stressed.
Sometimes it seems poker is more luck. I can have the best hand, and only a donkey would call me with the crap that they had, but the moron calls,, and still gets lucky on the river. With trading, it seems if you do everything correctly, wait for your high probability setup, take it, wait patiently for the movement, you are more than likely rewarded.
I've been trading for seven years, the 20% i was referring to are those black swan events (think of m&a) you can get an idea of risk in any position at any time but there's still intangibles (unlike in poker). I agree with you about execution, but there are times a setup will arise in something you don't trade all the time and will need to develop a plan right there and then.
Is it possible the stress is frustration from opponents in the game, losing a big pot to a suck out on the river? Would you qualify it (the stress) as having less confidence/edge in your poker if you were to run into multiple scenarios like that? Bankroll is really key, can you give some basic money management principles when playing online?
the main diff is poker has zero intrinsic value to society and trading can be hallucinated as providing some service to the economy.

The stress comes from the numerous suckouts that can come at once, the prolonged downswings which could last a month or 2, and the intensity of staring at a screen for so long and not making any money. Bankroll management online is having 50 to 100 buyins for the games your playing.
You really have to control your emotions at the tables.. That is the only way you can ever handle the stress.. Best way do do this I guess is spending much time on sports or with your girlfriend if you have one..
