Not that "trading breeds assholes" but that people are naturally assholes. In short, people suck. Go to any other profession: poker, sports, sales. Same.
Try this: what do you call a dance studio where you don't dance? What you call bowling alley where you don't bowl? What do you call a trade room where you don't trade? A sales room. While pondering that consider this: a man says he's a golf expert in fact the tour champion - you asked for his golf score and he says he doesn't have one. Another man says he's a bowling exprt the league champion in fact you ask what's his bowling score he says he doesn't have one. A mentor says he a futures trader runs his own room in fact and you askd for his track record he doesn't have one. What's wrong with these three scenarios? a thing that cannot be measured cannot be understood, compared or valued at least according to Einstein
Enough to live on, grow one’s capital base, and justify the opportunity cost - both money and time. Records from prop firms show that a large majority of consistently profitable traders are earning only small amounts, certainly far less than the $100k+benefits you can earn these days for being able to write your own name, and screw around with Excel sheets while WFH.
Totally agree, they're spreading like cockroaches. There used to be a saying: "There's a sucker born every minute" These days I’d say that: “There's an asshole born every second"
I think material amount is determined by how much you value your time and any alternative source of income you can accumulate.
