I left the NY floor sometime in the 90's. I clerked on the NYBOT floor. The stories of the club or better yet the gang @ NYMEX are true. Heard them 1st hand from buddies over in Natty Gas. However, once you get the nod ur are OK. I also echo the sentiment of those on this board. The screen is the future. Why bother when then is an better alternative and an attractive one at that ? Pretty soon the Vinny's and the Tony's are going to have to learn to type !!!!!
Vinny and Tony will be driving delivery trucks, most of the guys can't trade if their uncle, brother, cousin, whatever wasn't handing them edges.
Given that a NYMEX seat traded for 5 million today I don't think there'll be a "tag day" for Vinny and Tony anytime soon.....
