Even this "old timer" understands what is meant by gaming. ;)

Two decades ago trading from the local (no longer) Bright propshop there was as kid, relatively speaking, who was cleaning up scalping. Real scalping. In and out quicker than I can type in and out. Ok I'm a two finger typist but he did rock on the keyboard. Never asked him specifically but I have no doubts whether or not he was a gamer.

Don't know what became of him but he regularly made 5 figures week after week months on end. Not my cup of tea even if I was his age and grew up gaming at a higher level than pong. :)

Though beyond scalping, once again real scalping, can't say I see much of an advantage.

  3. I was a pro 80s gamer which helped transition to Day Trading because like a video game you know when your in a good or bad position. I think it helped me learn LL2 and T/S reading quicker than non gamers. While some shorted NET to the gamer it was a buy while solar was a obvious short.

Trading made me a better gamer after learning the hard way to take probability seriously. :D

  5. CIS the Japanese trader who turned 30k into 200mil in 10 years is very good at video games.

At the core, trading is also a "game". He likens the money to virtual points he earns.

I've gotta buy a ps4 or ps5 so I can play the new cyberpunk2077 release coming soon..... looks great. Doubt it'll help me with trading though.

  8. Yes — in gaming you practice your strategy and learn from your opponent. That is key to trading. Realize that your opponent has $$$ to spend on r&d and teams of phds. You’re not going to outsmart them so you need to test them for weaknesses (e.g. when don’t they trade...?).

  9. If you love the pattern recognition the 80s n 90s games demanded with rapid reaction needed the algos style of accumulating and selling is obvious. Its like Defender, Asteroids, Bubbles, Robotron, Donkey Kong and Pinball(Play Boy), Collosus, Big Hunt, Pirates of Caribbean combined. The pHDs make the game, up to us to find the glitch.
