As a European based trader on german debt futures, we have to attempt to guesstimate an open price for the markets, which we normaly calculate with the aid of the american overnight trades, a brief look at the currencies and a small bit of gut instinct.

What do people who trade the US debt futures look at to determine the direction on the open? From watching the american open, there are few clear indicators to me to determine the initial direction.

The ramifications are that either the US does not look at the EU as a guide, and hence our movements are irrelevant, and will be later corrected by US traders, or that there is another influence

    Many Thanks and Good trading!
