Agree with you. But please be more specific about your customer service complaints: Was it regarding the platform or the brokerage. IMO, TS makes a very good platform and has a below average brokerage. DS
I've used them quite extensively as a brokerage for the last six months. The major benefit for me is the platform, backtesting, and automation. It is somewhat cumbersome to trade automated using another broker as you would need an interface like TradeBolt, etc. As far as customer service, no, they are not great. At all. But the platform for me personally is still the key. I've found that their list of available shorts has improved greatly over the last few months, however.
