Sam Tennis I believe once showed how to get access to the bid/ask from EL.

Do you know how to do it?

If anyone could do it, SKT would be the one, but I just don't think it can be done in the platform for equities or futures, though Bid/Ask data is collected and modeled for options in OptionStation. I don't believe the bids and asks are collected as such for regular stock and futures charting functions, even though it does exist somewhere in the datafeed for use in "Quotes" windows, L2, and "advanced" orders.

If you find out anything different, please let me know - as I wouldn't mind having the option of charting bids and asks separately...

Well, I always tell people to play around with TS and not try to make it work "just like" other trading software.

I've been using the platform since it was first available, and was a user of TS 2000i before then - and I'm still figuring new ways to set up and format workspaces, and am, of course, still learning different ways to use EasyLanguage.

Only just happened to notice recently, for instance, that it's possible to click on the Bid/Last/Ask buttons in the Order Bar and cause the prices to appear in the Limit Price box. In certain situations, it's a nice little time-saver. It might be in the documentation or tutorials somewhere (like the "global" order is), but, even if it is, it's easy to miss.

A lot of other stuff, like making the most out of templates, for instance, you just sort of hit on. My guess is that, once upon a time in some earlier version of TS or even SuperCharts, when the feature was new, it was more extensively documented. Other things - like ways to use the Order Bar or Acct Manager - may never get fully documented before they're made obsolete by the next upgrade...

Anyway, I've found myself answering various questions about using TS since I became an ET member. You might want to check out my posting history - esp. my earliest posts - for some other stuff that's come up.

Wonder if we should get a TS Tips and Tricks thread going...

    Kymar,

We intend to have this functionality in TradeStation 7, plus more historical intra-day data for equities and futures, window linking, charting of pre/post market, ECN books, Hot Keys, and more. We greatly value our client's opinions on how we can improve TradeStation 6. Please send suggestions by email to TradeStationWishlist@TradeStation.com. We do not have a release date yet.

    Thank you,

  6. Very useful would be a newsletter that informs
about any changes in price structure and services.

P.S. I had no more login problems with TS6, runs very fine again.

  7. kymar´s got it right - u cant run ts6 like some 'other plattforms' (at least at the moment) due to some missing features, that will become available if ts 7 is released (hopefully soon :))
but i´ve setup my workspaces that i can live very well without linking, for pre-/postmkt charting i use qt at the moment (dont use it very often). keyword is creativity!

  10. TS6 includes data feed (from S&P Comstock) and order entry (as well as automated trading) for US stocks.
A TS2000i feature called Radarscreen is still missing. Futures order entry is browser-based (not integrated).

Clearing firms: Bear-Stearns (stocks) and Lind-Waldock (futures).
