Just call their number for new accounts to bitch- it doesn't take more than two rings to get a live person there. Funny how they value prospective clients more than existing ones. Exactly why I left.
IMO-TS has good software and that is their main area of expertise; they got into brokerage to broaden out their revenue stream. IMO they are a good backup broker. Also, I believe if you are a serious trader that you need two accounts as it is not if but when one of those accounts will not be available. Having the second gives you an oppurtunity to offset the trade or offset the risk. DS
thye sure call you right back when they want you to OPEN the account -- typical..... but then after when a problem arises apparently they forget you according to the original poster! I gotta re-think opening an account there- no way I will sit on a phone holding to get some trade-desk assistance once in a great while. IcE
Doug- A second account is always smart, but won't do you any good to offset risk when tradestation can't tell you if you've been filled or what you position is. I've been there with them and it's like operating in total darkness.
2 hours, weeee. I do have a back up and have been trading it, but I still have no f'ing idea whether I have a trade on or not in Tradestation, for 2 hours!
Ok, now that I have beat the crap out of the heavy bag and my hands, I feel much better. Another good example of why we should always have 2 accounts. They were great to deal with when I got through and apparently I and a few others got sent to on hold limbo while others were getting through. I don't know why that happened, but that was frustrating, and interesting while I'm talking to someone at the trade desk yet on hold on my other phone that I made the intial call on. So many things make trading fun!
