yeah, tradestation. really like the software. dependable, great features. quotes are slow.....hopefully CME data will improve with upgrade. is it me or is client services a total cluster f***???? one woman was particularly obnoxious even after they had delayed my account opening for 5 business days due to an error on their end (didn't link new account to my platform) after repeated phone calls.........bad business. ts7 is sweet however
Yeah, what's up with it this morning?! I normally don't do my daytrades(swing trade is OK) through TS7.1. But I use them for charting and backtesting etc, blah blah. But this morning, I was like WTF?! Did my computer freezed?! I had to log in/ log out, log in/log out. I type a symbol and it takes 1min for a chart to appear! Then I load eSignal and it FROZE up eSignal. Log out. Log back in. Finally it's working. Scary. I thought there was something wrong with my PC until I saw all those pop up mesgs and this forum confirmed me that it was their problem. It was one scary problem though cuz for a while the charts didn't update and I didn't know where I was pricewise. I'm like wtf?! glad that other felt the same way. btw, how come some symbosl take forever to load and other load really fast? What's the deal with that? For example, I can't load certain symbols at all. Like it just doesn't pop up so I go onto the next symbol. misc
My level of frustation with TradeStation has risen to the point where I am now in full research mode on looking for an alternative product. It seems like I will have to create a piecemeal solution since TradeStation is both a charting software, a datafeed vendor and a broker. For per share commission Broker replacement, I have identify IB and MB Trading as possible replacements. For Charting Software, I have identify Metastock and Stock Watch Pro as possible replacements. I have not yet identify a real-time and historical datafeed vendor to fit into this piecemeal trading platform. Have anyone been successful in creating a piecemeal solution ? That is combining a trading platform consisting of a broker, charting software, and data-feed provider ? If you have, please post which combination works best for you. TIA P.S. I am not trying to trash TradeStation. They have an excellent Trading Platform. I will consider going back to them once they have iron out their problems.
TS stock TRAD closed at 1.44 on 12/31/02, this Friday it settled at 8.52 Its up some 600% this year, Bill Cruz must be a happy man ! I believe they are going through growing pains. I also believe that they have consistently listened to their customers and continue to make improvements. I just wish IB would go out and buy esignal or wealthlab, then it would be a perfect competitor of TS.
WinSum, It doesn't have to be all that piecemeal, eSignal with data works directly with a choice of brokers including IB and MB - with more integrated brokerage partners coming in a few weeks. Here is the latest eSignal features: http://www.esignal.com/esignal/features/default.asp And here are the brokers we connect to currently: http://www.esignal.com/partners/brokerages/default.asp Chuck
Chuck (and all post subscribers) Most Tradestation users are using the testing capabilities and are in a sense locked in to using "easy language". System developers have developed a boatload of systems using that platform. It has become a defacto standard. Unfortunately. It is sort of like the situation that Microsoft has with Windows. In addition, Signal charges about twice the fee (about $200/mo) for data and they are not the only ones (look at CQG at $500-$600/mo!!). Fair warning to data/service providers, I'm not going to do your homework for you. You guys are all missing the boat. I'm looking into an alternative for the market. I think all the service and data providers have become complacent, thinking they have it sewed up. In the next few months, "someone" is going to come in with a reliable, competitive product and offer it at a reasonable price. Your gonna have to do more than just phone in to check for messages. Regards Steve46
Easy Language I have several Easy Language Indicators that I wrote and have purchased. So I am shackled by the balls to the whims of TradeStation connectivity. If ESignal had the capability to import Easy Language it would solve our problem. Then short TRAD!
Did anyone experience this is it just mean? I can't even open a chart?! What's up with this?! And it's giving me some error messages?! My hard drive thrashes. My computer froze. What's going on here? is this a bug fix for this?! thanks
