Yeah, well, I feel like whining some more, too. Got up this morning in a foul mood, partly because of the newly announced "get our shit together finally" delay. As usual, the data was virtually useless throughout the morning move. I also tried re-booting. Finally got it up and running, more or less, couldn't trust it, tried to trade off IB quotes, was so discombobulated I accidentally hit buy instead of sell, another two points right down the drain. I hate to admit it, but I'm at this point totally dependent on the platform (custom code and set-up). TS7 is close to being great, but, as we all know, is instead right now worse than useless. It's like getting married and starting a family and finding out too late that you hate your wife. What a pain. Since there doesn't seem to be anyone to complain to effectively, I suggest we all just remember to give TS prominent mention in our suicide notes.
I thought their "reason" for delaying the upgrade to a direct CME/CBOT connection was so all clients would have time to download 7.1 was the biggest lie they have told so far. It is awfully suspicious when the next day after making this annoucement their servers crash. What I find most annoying is thier pop - up alerts that occur an hour after the fact.
What this points out is that there is an opportunity for someone with the motivation to provide active traders with an alternative. Look at how Wealthlab has grown!! I think I am going to look into the idea of getting an alternate platform into production. If I had an alternative platform that was stable I am sure that plenty of customers would at least take a look, especially after days like today (I'm sure this isn't the last time this will happen). Anyone who might like to collaborate, please pm me. steve46
That is funny, but true!.....I am ready to hand them their heads for this morning's foul up! Screwed up the whole computer! No idea what virus I had...... #$%^&*!!
"Although today's known data delivery latency issues specifically affecting TradeStation have been resolved, BellSouth is experiencing some backbone issues that may result in general Internet latency for some individuals."
TradeStation needs to fire their software development team. What a bunch of incompetent boobs. I hope Wealth-Lab blows them out of the water with their upcoming release.
There's no way they'll get that working. It takes so long to load data now that most people will find it unusable anyways.
