We looked into the latency situation and identified the problem. One of our data servers entered a state this morning in which it was not providing timely data. This problem was isolated to this one server. Shortly after we became aware of the problem, we took down this server. As far as we know, the problem did not later reemerge. Our Engineering team is looking at this server in an effort to determine why this happened, however, we do not believe that this is related to our direct connectivity to the CME and CBOT.

  3. MichaelD,

Well, just to let you know, I've been having this high CPU 100% usage problem the last few weeks. Giovanni and Annette both have been really on the ball and contacting me via phones and emails to help solve this issue.

But the issue REMAINS the same. So, perhaps you can help me.
Read my earlier post. This 100% cpu usage ONLY happens when I tried to get a HISTORICAL CHART. Even as recent ast 5/30/2003 the cpu usage shoots up and ties up my pc that I have to kill the process. This is very frustrating for me since one of the features that attracted me to TS7 was its supposedly vast intraday history. But if I can't get any intraday history then it's mute point.

Giovanni suggested that perhaps it's a clock difference. I've adjusted my clocks many, many seconds ahead and even minutes ahead and the problem still persist.

    getting very very weary!

  4. Since the upgrade, my TS data has mostly been precisely in sync with IB. There have been a handful of periods when the charts were updating slightly behind the actual quotes: Bid/Ask/Last data on the Order Bar kept up with IB, but the charts would briefly stall. On the other hand, there were also a few notable instances when my IB connection went out completely (leading to log out/log on and so on, with at least one substantial delay getting back), but my TS connection remained fine.

Altogether, I would call the upgrade quite tradable - not perfect, but, then again, what is?

I prefer TS to TWS as a trading platform as well, particularly after setting up my basic set of orders as macro buttons - though I have had occasional problems making the Order Bar "active" for other types of orders (you click on it and nothing happens or there is a delay - can be disconcerting). I haven't been using it long enough to determine how much of a defect this is.

Otherwise, for my style, the extra 40 cents a side is fairly trivial, especially after including software and data costs. When TS gets its market depth data (bid/ask size will be adequate for me), I'll probably just keep IB available as data and brokerage back-up, and for spot checking.

I have a new explanation for The Vivaldi music.
TradeStation is comprised of merely five people.
    Bill, Ralph, Salomon, David,and Marc.
    And their puppets of course.
My theory is they have NOBODY working in a customer service capacity whatsoever.

I have tried calling them over various issues and I am put on Perma Vivaldi Hold for as long as 45 minutes during trading hours.
Has anybody ever gotten a live person from TradeStation on the phone? Why is TRAD trading over $11?

    Unbelievable.

NQ and ES data is still not right. I have a 200 tick NQ chart that stops updating. If I close and reopen the workspace all the data changes. So I would say, no, your data problem has not been resolved.

Are you guys posting over at TSWorld? Generally, I get answers within a couple hours over there. . . and for tough problems, the techs call me.

have any of you guys figured out a way of having your PC email or SMS you if Tradestation has crashed.

The only reason I am looking at TS is that I want completely automatic, unattended trading.
