TradeStation data problems...

Discussion in 'Data Sets and Feeds' started by tortoise, Oct 26, 2006.

  1. TradeStation is a wonderfull piece of software.....

    Version 2000i that is.....

    Standalone......

With a third party data provider....

    And a backup data provider....

When are you all going to wake up that software quality has gone downhill over the past 5+ years?

All the present charting providers are interested in is to "lock you in" with their stuff which is server based.....

And then charge you a rip-off amount every month.....

And then shove upgrades down your throat, upgrades you don't need....

("more funtionaility is better, we have to cater for our customer requirements", yeah right, NOT!.......)

Because human greed and fear has not changed since the dark ages....

But wait, they cannot have that can they? They would not be making any money selling more software.....

  2. A lot of software has been going down hill since there are tons more programmers and the quality control is not as tight. But these are data feed problems, where TradeStation executive management is happy to skimp on the data end to the detriment of clients.

bali_survivor/Maria, can you still buy 2000i today somewhere from a 3rd party? If so, what data provider(s) are you using, for which markets. thx

  3. TradeStation Data Outage -
Forex data was unavailable from 1700-2233 on Sunday December 3, 2006

No broadcast messages regarding the data outage were sent out. The weekend/overnight desk is under-staffed. Consequently, was not able to contact until European market open because too many people calling in.

For me, all but completed a move on. I am considering holding out to confirm whether CME/Rueters FXMarketSpace spot currency market could substantially eliminate this data issue on the forex front.

Wasn't that TS data lag a special gift today during the 10:00AM ISM release? Perhaps an early Christmas present from the Cruz Bros!
