Is it at all possible to be more specific on the rollout procedure? For example, is it going to go alphabetically based on last name, random, etc? And how long exactly is 'the next several weeks?'
Toonces, RadarScreen is an advanced multi-symbol analysis and scanning tool that gives you the ability to use the full power and flexibility of EasyLanguage to define anything from the simplest to the most complex criteria for real-time market scanning, ranking and for custom indicator column calculation. It enables you to create custom scanning/filtering formulas that not only reference the current barâs data, but also historical data for prior bars. Every row in RadarScreen is like a tabular chart, in the sense that there are historical values available. RadarScreen not only allows you to track price data and custom indicator columns for a list of symbols, but also to reference your own custom filters for scanning purposes. Below are just some of the features RadarScreen offers you: ⢠The Power of EasyLanguage â The RadarScreen window will utilize the full power of EasyLanguage to offer you the ability to customize all Indicator Columns and Filters. In addition, every built-in indicator, pricing model and calculation may be viewed and modified, offering you additional control and flexibility. ⢠Over 100 Indicator Columns Included, All Written in EasyLanguage â With RadarScreen, you'll be able to choose from a library of over 100 built-in indicators, all written in EasyLanguage, to apply to your symbols, and monitor them in real-time. This library of technical indicators includes some of the most popular trading conceptsâMoving Averages, Stochastics, RSIs and many more so you can start tracking a host of criteria from day one. Simply apply the indicators to the page of symbols you're following using a drag and drop interface, and watch as they update with each tick of the market. ⢠Custom Indicator Columns â But RadarScreen doesn't limit you to just built-in indicator columns. That's because you will be able to create your own custom indicators with the power and flexibility of EasyLanguage®. With EasyLanguage, you will be able to describe the trading concepts or criteria you want to see using English-like statements and everyday trading terms. So, you'll be able to design your own scanning criteria, define your own indicators and analysis techniques and combine over 100 built-in math functions and technical indicators. ⢠Unlimited Scanning Criteria â The actual criteria you will be able to scan for are almost countless. For example, you could have one column list the top symbols stocks that have been trending in the last 5 days. And you could have another column track the stocks with the biggest volume increases over their normal volume for the day. And these are just two simple examples of the analysis possibilities you'll have, thanks to the power and flexibility of EasyLanguage. ⢠Custom Filters â You will be able to easily insert custom filter columns, again written in EasyLanguage, with full ability to color-code background and foreground of cell indicators as columns in RadarScreen. You wil be able to choose from TradeStation 7âs library of built-in indicators or create your own indicators using EasyLanguage and then enable them for use in RadarScreen. ⢠Dynamic Ranking and Sorting â RadarScreen will dynamically rank and sort hundreds of symbols in real-time based on your own custom sort criteria. Symbols are ranked relative to others based on all column headings at once, and on numerous criteria. You will even be able to break up symbol categories into different pages or sub-sort the symbols on a page by including a blank row between categories. By placing a blank row between groups of stocks, you will be able to sort and rank within different groups all on the same page. You will then be able to watch as the symbols change ranking positions according to the conditions you have set. ⢠Color Code with SmartStyling⢠â With SmartStyling, you'll be able to color-code each cell to change dynamically as the market shifts. For example, if you'd like to see a group of symbols ranked by volume, but you'd also like to quickly identify which stocks are trading above the 10-day moving average, you can ask RadarScreen to color code cells for stocks with that criteria. ⢠Custom Alerts â Wherever you are, you will be able to have RadarScreen track the markets for you and send you alerts in a host of different ways. On your screen, if you're at your computer. By e-mail, if you're at the office. You will even be able to set up RadarScreen to deliver quotes at timed intervals to your computer via e-mail. Simply ask RadarScreen to send you updates on a list of symbols you're tracking, and specify any time interval in 5 minute increments. RadarScreen even knows not to send you updates if there has been no change in the specified time, assuring that you don't get pages after market hours. And, you will be able to set alerts on every single symbol, every single column and every single indicator, whether custom or built-in, which means that you can know instantly when a trading opportunity arises based on your criteria. ⢠Different Bar Interval for Each Row â You will be able to set bar intervals independently for each row in RadarScreen, allowing you to see and compare chart values and data in a tabular format. For example, you can choose to have one row display MSFT daily data and another display MSFT 5 minute data. The column calculations for each row will be based on the interval specified for that row, providing the ability to see and easily compare chart values in a tabular format. ⢠Support for Symbol Lists â You'll be able to add symbols easily with customizable lists, and rank and sort them as you choose. RadarScreen will include the ability to add symbols easily and quickly by simply typing them directly in a cell. Plus, RadarScreen will include pre-built symbol lists of industry sectors, exchanges, etc. for even more ease of use. You will be able to actually create and save your own custom symbol lists, as well. This will make adding lists like "My Favorite Trade Candidates" a breeze. ⢠Pre-Built and Custom Templates â Will allow you to quickly change columns/sorting/ranking criteria by applying your favorite RadarScreen template with just a few mouse clicks... ⢠Support for Custom Time Sessions (e.g. Pre/Post Market Data) â Will allow you to create your own custom sessions in RadarScreen to customize what data you want to see. For example, you will be able to choose to see pre-market data, regular session data and post-market data reflected in all indicator columns on a symbol-by-symbol basis. ⢠Multiple Processor Support â We've also designed it to include support for Multiple Processors and multi-threaded applications. This means that you will be able to unleash the full potential of the latest state-of-the-art operating systems by working with up to eight CPUs on the same machine. How does this help your trading? It will insure that you get maximum power and speed, and that your computer will work more smoothly. ⢠Replaces the Quotes Window in TradeStation 7 â The RadarScreen window will include the full functionality of the Quotes window in TradeStation 7. So, you will be able to use it as a regular quote window and then apply custom indicator columns and filters when needed.
"Support for Custom Time Sessions (e.g. Pre/Post Market Data) â Will allow you to create your own custom sessions in RadarScreen to customize what data you want to see. For example, you will be able to choose to see pre-market data, regular session data and post-market data reflected in all indicator columns on a symbol-by-symbol basis." Good stuff Janette. Any limitations on the size of the symbol universe? And if so, when will that limit be eliminated or increased? PTR
In the description of Radar Screen Janette mentions multi threading. Does anyone know if the main TS7 software is multi threaded? I'm shopping for a new computer and this would make a difference in my purchase.
I spoke to tech support today.. they said symbols are limited to 500... and maybe will be upped to 5,000 in the future.... --MIKE
Anyone out there know what the breakeven cost is for emini futures for a company like Tradestation or IB - before salaries and other outside costs? In other words, what do they pay to the CME or related bodies versus what they keep for themselves (pay employees, rent, profit, etc.)
maxpi, The symbol limit for Interval based columns will be 500. The same symbol with different intervals will be counted individually. So, MSFT 1 Min MSFT 5 Min MSFT Daily would count as 3 symbols. Thanks, Janette TradeStation Technologies, Inc.
last time I looked the Current Fees were: Globex = 2.28 round turn http://www.cme.com/risk_management/clearing_house/fees.cfm NFA = .04 round turn
Jeanette, Is there anyway to lower to costs for TS7? How about an end of day or 20min delayed version? samba
