  2. Sorry,
there was a misunderstanding from my part, i answered your question without reading it correctly.
I said in a reaction that intrabar signals are very dangerous.
It cannot be done in TS2000 except if you watch in realtime, because then you see the signals appear and disappear constantly. That's how i saw that signals that were generated on intrabars suddenly disappeared when the bar was complete.
This lead me to the conclusion that i always have to wait till the bar is closed before interpreting my system.

So you are right it cannot be done in TS2000. But it's an advantage instead of a handicap to me.

  3. For end of day data, 2000i will read just about anything out there from most vendors/suppliers.

Intraday data is more difficult and patchy.

I just tested their "HistoryBank" data source and it only updates for the last 3 mos. In addition, the data is full of big holes.

There are sources you can buy it from.

Another option is Quote.com. With a subscription to their service, all historical data since say, 1997, is included (intraday too).

But if you have no data it's probably best to just go with ts8.

do you need to have a Tradestation brokerage account to use TS8? what's the cost of TS8? TS2000i is only $100.

i am mainly looking for intraday data on Dax futures. what would you suggest is the best way to get this?

  5. I did a test:
intraday are available at Esignal got the last year. When i tried to download january 2004 he didn't give anything at all.
So data available will be between 1 and 2 years in the past.

    Take a look at http://www.tradestation.org/
For 60$ you can download unlimited stocks including intraday data. Data goes directly in TS2000, no conversion needed.
The cheapest offer there is. I know some one who works with it.

This is just a download program. It copies the data from Yahoo!. Why not go direct to Yahoo! and save yourself $69? Also, I think it is only for EOD data, not intraday.

  7. I asked you several times what data. Finally!
For Dax, that rules out ts8 and quote.com (neither has it).
You probably need to buy it for use in ts2000i.

  8. It's also INTRADAY and it fits the data directly in Global Server, which is not the case with Yahoo.
You can also download several times a day so that you have several times a day intraday charts that are up to date.

I have tested Yahoo and this program. Believe me there is a huge difference between both ways of working. And on top of that Yahoo has no intraday data.

And as a last remark: what's 69$ for a trader?

I've never ordered from them. Some people on omega list mentioned them a while back.
