I don't see the announcement on the front page anymore... the V2.5 will be delayed? Will it come out in September?

No , the announcement was removed while the web master is performing some maintenance on the site.

  4. What about Forex? In this entire thread, I have seen no mention of trading Forex. Does TradersStudio support or intend to support Forex data in later releases?

Hi everybody, first post here, so please don't be too harsh.

I actually registered because Murray Ruggiero pops up here from time to time and perhaps he (or some other trader) could answer my question.

That is the question I asked to "contacts@traderstudio.com" on 8/16/06, thinking about a stop and reverse - always in the market - system:

    "Dear Sirs,
I’d like to know how Traderstudio does when Buy and Sell orders are triggered on the same bar
Let me explain what I mean.

When working with historical data, one cannot know the chronological order of the High and the low of a bar.

Tradestation has a rule: if the open of the bar is closer to the low than to the high, it handles the bar as if the low was reached first. I’d like to know which is TradersStudio behavior.".

By the way, contrary what someone seems to think, I believe that "bouncing tick" option has nothing to do with the matter.
In my opinion, Bouncing tick is only a precaution for TS2000i to deal with EXIT order that could happen in the same bar of entry; exits difficult to see in backtesting, when we don't know the exact chronology of prices inside the bar.
I feel my question is different: it is about having two ENTRY signals (stop and reverse) on the same bar.

    PS
As of today, no answer yet.
Frankly, I'm a bit disappointed because after more than a month, the guy that received my mail didn't even find the time to tell me: "stop asking stupid question...."

that is really suprising to hear..i bombarded them with questions, and always got a responce..did you try live chat or calling???

one of the main reasons i purchased TS was due to the fact that I could ask them questions LIVE as opposed to email...

TradersStudio 2.0 was not able to handle an entry stop and a protective stop on the same bar. It could handle a entry stop and a exit on the close. In our new version 2.5 we added a same day stop, which allows a protective stop on the bar of entry. We have been taking all of our customers feedback for version 2.5 and just keep adding new features, which is why it has taken a little longer than I wanted to get 2.5 ready for release. Here at TradersStudio the customer comes first.

We don't allow entry in both directions on the same bar, we actually product two trade with zero profit when this happens so you can flag them. This is a conservative solution and you can better define your rules or use intra-day data to solve this problem.

The problem support had was that , I have not released them from there NDA yet on many issues relating to version 2.5 unless the person is already a customer. This put them in a tough spot.

In my painfully extensive research prior to getting it, TraderStudio, in the end, looked like it could help me accomplish what I need.

So I got it and just started using it this week.

Give me some time to trudge through the learning curve, and in due time I will post thorough honest feedback.

Here's to hoping it works out! :)

TradersStudio 2.0 could trade Forex by treating it as a futures contract. This is the same type of thing you would have to do in many platforms. The advantage we have is automatic currency rate conversion so you could trade Forex spreads not quoted in dollars. In version 2.5 we will be adding support for the interest rate differential. We support linking files which contain both a borrowing and lending rate for the Base and Quoted currency and the using that to calculate how much money was made or loss due to the difference in the interest rate between the two countries.
