Traders who play/played Poker

  1. Hey guys,

I've heard several people say that there is a correlation between winning poker players and successful traders. Just wanted to see how many have played poker in the past or play poker now, and if so are you a winning poker player? Also, has anyone invested in a poker company/site or is trying to invest currently? I know of a good oppurtunity that someone might be interested in, PM me for more info.

I'm located in the Chicagoland area and if there is enough interest maybe we can start some sort of poker tournament around here somewhere. We'll see where this gets.
    Happy trading.

...and no offense, but by coming into the game over four years too late, any poker site creation project is 99.99% hopeless. Players ONLY gravitate to wherever large numbers of players are already playing, putting the unfortunate investor in a catch-22 situation.

ZeroRake.com (founded 2004) wasn't able to attract a player base, and they offered a low flat monthly table fee with NO RAKE at all. EVERYBODY in the poker industry heard of ZeroRake before it even opened, strongly wanted ZeroRake to succeed, as it could have greatly lowered rake rates industry wide- yet the site still failed to seat more than a few dozen players at a time. It went belly up a few months later, joining the vast poker site graveyard at the bottom of this page:

Trying to establish a profitable new poker site 1 1/2 years later, no matter how original you think your concept and marketing may be, is just mission impossible.
