I'm still waiting for you to demonstrate how God is required to not-exist in order to create the universe. Is your omission intentional?

How is "You can't think" -- the essence of your statement -- not "to the man?"

However you attempt to disguise ad hominem, it remains what it is.

    Caught again.

  3. Remind me again... ad hominem came before or after homo habilus?

    Good idea.

You're right; a complex discussion does become a bog, or labyrinth, of details. I was a bit intimidated by the length of your original posts and was beginning to think I might have to quit life in general to respond in the detail you probably would prefer.

  5. Watching trainer do mental contortions brings home the beauty of this statement by a wise theist:

Often a non-Christian knows something about the earth, the heavens, and the other parts of the world, about the motions and orbits of the stars and even their sizes and distances,... and this knowledge he holds with certainty from reason and experience. It is thus offensive and disgraceful for an unbeliever to hear a Christian talk nonsense about such things, claiming that what he is saying is based in Scripture. We should do all that we can to avoid such an embarrassing situation, which people see as ignorance in the Christian and laugh to scorn."
    [St. Augustine]

    and this:

The truth of our faith becomes a matter of ridicule among the infidels if
any Catholic, not gifted with the necessary scientific learning, presents
as dogma what scientific scrutiny shows to be false.[St. Thomas Aquinas]

  6. Quit life in general -- ha ha, good one. Quick with the slings and arrows we are. Shall I turn the other cheek?

You really did skew some of my positions quite badly in your recap, to the point of being obtuse. I was trying to be charitable in my withdrawal.

I'll keep this final comment short, so take it as you will. You, sir, are a lousy ambassador of Christ. Based on this thread, your MO seems to be: accept my God, accept that I'm smarter than you, or fuck off. Somehow I doubt Jesus would approve.

I think you took offense where none was intended. "quit life in general" was in reference to the day-to-day things like work, sleep, etc. Just my way of saying I don't have enough time.

But, thanks for the kind words.

  8. Give it up Trainr, is this what jesus taught? shove it down their throats even if it causes conflict... a true christian would love their fellow man enough to keep the peace rather than this insatiable need to be right

  9. here is trainr talking to jesus:
Jesus- Sell all you have, give the money from your sales to the poor, then you can follow me.
Trainr- Right. Just a second, Im in a debate with this atheist online.
Jesus- ~sigh~ Sell all you have, give the money from your sales to the poor, then you can follow me.
Trainr- Yeah yeah, just a minute. Ive GOT to show this atheist how he's wrong about you!
Jesus- ~double sigh~ Sell all you have, give the money from your sales to the poor, then you can follow me.
Trainr- Get off my back already! Geez, cant you see Im doing God's work here?!?
Jesus-You're not listening to me. Sell all you have, give the money from your sales to the poor, then you can follow me.
Trainr- What? Give up my computer? But this is how I do God's work!! GET OFF MY BACK!
Jesus- You're not listening. ALL you are doing is debating foolish words, NOT salvation!
Trainr- O COMMON! There's NO WAY you literally meant to sell everything.
All the scholars know that! Jeez, how stupid!
Now get off my back Jesus.
    Jesus- ~walking away~
    ~sigh~
