Got a telescope for Christmas. First light was Luna. Other interests are fishing, golf, woodworking and just being a pain here on ET Seriously, trading will kill you if that's all you do.

A good friend I went to school with talked none stop for 4 years about designing a rotarty engine for aircraft. Can't remember if he did both mechnical and aeronautical eng. major or ended with just the mechnical degree, but he never did follow up on it. I've been a pilot for 22 years now, and what general aviation needs is someone to come up with a way to keep flying for a resonable cost. Too damn expensive! I finally got a good friend to get his license, and now he wants a plane, so maybe get he and another together for a purchase. He wants to build a homebuilt, but I don't think he gets that you don't get to fly it until you finish building. lol Home built is great if you have the time to build, but I don't want to build for 2-5 years it would take me.
You tote it to a reasonably clear (dark) site, assemble it, voila. A dobsonian, is basically a reflector, without a tripod. As for seeing, depends on how dark it is, etc. It has a 20" mirror, so it is an order of magnitude light-gathering ability over what most people own.
