Fwiw i ve never heard of any foreigner Getting Into troubles for using a VPN in China and almost all Are using one, including kids as soon as They Are in age of owning a connected device. International schools in Shenzhen(the ones i know at least, and chinese nationals Are Not allowed to study there) have regular overseas internet connections with Similar access as hong kong schools, and kids want to keep access to their favourite websites once they leave schools. Really no big deal to use a Vpn, although again it certainly doesn t mean the end of all China related internet problems.
It seems Way less popular among locals, even university educated ones, I suspect it is more because They Are Not used to it and less keen on surfing non chinese speaking websites, education here doesn t seem to make them overly curious about the world outside China and opinions there. But Vpns might also be associated with dissidents among locals, which is synonymous with legal troubles, Not Sure about that. But no problem for foreigners, i m surprised One would be afraid to use a Vpn.

  3. This is a FORUM website which does not involve political stuff related to China and therefore, it's not blocked yet. However, it's somewhat frustrating to load threads that carries many pages because they take forever.

Trading wise, many big setups tend to kick in during night sessions in US, which is day time here and I love it. I normally go to sleep ~4pm/5am in China when US market close and get up ~2am/3pm in China to bait setups. It's perfect for me because market liquidity tends to pick up ~3am/~4pm in China until close.

  4. Hello HumbleTrader2016

I am a newbie trader who went from zero to trading long short spread all kinds of strategies with all kinds of tickers within 4 months. Now testing book trading (I guess its scalping). With a small trading budget, summing up all winners and losers I've been close to breakeven and paid a little tuition fee so far.

Google and youtube are my mentors, so looking for likeminded people to hang out, talk about trades, listen to their trading stories, advices, opinions etc.

I am now building a trade record, goal is to become profitable and then apply to HF / IB.
I live in Shanghai, 26y, from Europe so don't worry about your Chinese.

So hit me up if you around, I would be happy to catch up :)

The best instrument to trade from China is Forex I find cuz the most active market is still the London market and that starts at 2 PM in China and then you can trade the NA market starting at 9:00 PM until midnight. After midnight, there is not much volume. And then in the morning, you are ready to trade in the Tokyo market. That way you can go to bed the same time as everyone else and still trade 3 markets around the clock. I like your travel arrangement around Asia though.

haha, nice way to see things .. Paul Tudor Jones thinks Europe is the best place to live for someone trading fx. He always thinks the best place is somewhere else :D

  8. It took years of hardworking to find and manual back test my setups in order to trade ES instrument profitably. So, I stick to what I'm good at. I can't trade other instruments because rules for entry/exit points aren't the same. Plus, I think I'm busy enough to bait setups for one instrument, leave alone to other. Speaking of which, I include a screenshot from yesterday trading to demonstrate what I mean by that statement.

while I don't like fx for intraday trading the same stuff should do work on Dax intraday, they are even arbed at times in the short run, but don't always rely on that. It's a specialty on its own.

I just thought Forex is the best instrument to trade timezone wise. Of course one trades the instrument that one is most comfortable with.

Good trading!! And don't wear no Dolce & Gabbana! :)
