I wish! Friends of mine attended 1000 per person political fundraiser outside on his lawn in a tent. Met Steve but were not allowed in the house. Man would have i been mad paying a grand and not even being allowed in his house--- good decision on my part. surf
So, I've got this theory that certain types of HFT arbing equities/futures decisions should be made with the least latency directly between Chicago and NYC. It is the place that receives pricing information first from both locations. Where is that? You might ask.. Pittsburgh! (or 30-40 miles northwestish). I think groups are setting up servers up Rt. 28 north near the backbone that passes through the area (near RIDC). If any of them want to hire me as their local contact in this future trading capital of the world, that would be fine by me.
That's interesting news. My grandfather owns many acres off of rt 28. Maybe this will be the next fracking type boom to the region.
Very interesting. So this will be a co-lo type of environment ? Wonder what the cost will be ? It's gotta be cheaper than Chicago or NYC, right ?
And America used to belong to the Indians.... There is a thingy called improvements.... There are new apartments and a shopping center with restaurants, comedy club and brewery there...
If you drive in Carnegie on Washington Ave, where the churches were transformed to pubs there are like 3 LLCs or some kind of investment firms. I always wondered if they are hiring.... Edit: Using Google I have found 2, Select Financial Group and Pension Investment Advisors. There is also Karna Investments, Walnut Street Securities, and Grandview Investments although not on that street...
Wow - good sleuthing. It's like our own little Financial District There are a few hedge funds in Pgh and some bank trading operations, Federated, PNC, BNY Mellon. A few moderately sized RIAs. I knew a real estate developer who located in Carnegie just because the address would have the Carnegie name/aura. I used to work on Main St. in Carnegie. I was outside and a guy in a pickup stopped and asked me where Carnegie Hall was
By the way, I am from Banshee, PA. Recently there has been a documentary about the town on Cinemax. Oh, the hot Amish girls!!!!
