Traders have a better personality?

  1. Hmmm. I quoted an article by a trading psychologist a long while back whose reasearch came to pretty much the opposite conclusion. He found that many good traders were kind of onery. Cant remember the name offhand.

Did you mean ornery or onery as in onerous?

Show me a good trader and I'll show you my kind of guy. Smart, competitive, cynical (a friend says we're good detectives), traders make excellent conversationalists and are usually into sports and/or current events. A trader can always offer the needed contrary opinion in the midst of any banal debate. We laugh at conventional wisdom.

Yea traders can, as well as pro athletes or trial lawyers come equipped with pretty substantial egos. But it takes a special personality to put his or her ass on the line each day.

  9. Or make sure it is connected to a brain under the influence of mind-altering drugs, preferably ones you sell.

  10. No-oo

Nothing to do with selling drugs.
But selling stocks - to those that buy them high
and buying stocks - from those that sell them low.

    Kind of like you.
