Today been good day considering day before 3-day holiday, trends in morning then 35 minutes of chop which I love trading both sides, huge triangle on one minute breakout to down side at 1-ish and like many days before holiday, starting to go back up. Guess I missed all the barbs going back and forth? I have so many on ignore, don't see them, LOL Yea, people who don't understand scalpers mentality, longer than couple minutes is a lifetime. EX no different than a pit trader cept his fees are higher. If it wasn't for scalpers, how would others get filled without HUGE slippage? Hope all have safe and fun holiday weekend. Off to Starbucks. Do you generally only get one signal to enter your trade or you ever add on as trade going your way? 20 ticks sounds like my stops, do you average down as well? It funny I can sleep with automation running but not in manual trades.
No average down for me. Market button and bracket. Some times I don't see the results until it's over. Lunch, bathroom, girlfriend, kids,... And yes, I enjoy my job function. I provide liquidity to fastest moving market on the Earth and only ask for $12.50. S and P 500 futures, YOU ARE WELCOME. One trade at 4 am and then slept real late. Started the weekend early just like the big shots. LOL I'm a small fish in huge pond. Love that anonimity. Good weekend guys, going camping with the crew. Should be murder on my back. NO PAIN NO GAIN NO PAIN NO GAIN Ex PS if you PM'd me and I did not answer, the request was inappropriate and you've been blocked. I was clear about it several times.
So, my son's friend says he know all this stuff know. My one tick solution is in reality a good guide for entry, but a grind. The proof being a high one tic win rate. I figure that when I enter, I like the trend on my side, at least one tic, I'll take way mo'. So, my son's friend is back at school an sends his first trade. All we discussed is discipline this... and strict adherence to a plan... I think the kid has a bit of an excitement addiction but it I have to respect people who show me results as opposed to referring to them...One sample is not indicative of anything. This kid is extremely intelligent...way past anything I could ever tell him. His claim is that he will be able to support himself, with pocket money, starting with about $850.00, for the next 3 years. It's his personal challenge. He's a bright guy surrounded by brilliant guys. See if it makes a difference? I hope they come up with something.
All that time to get to the same spot as Justin's exit, all those bars ago. Handle123 is correct. The Sand P 500 is forgiving. Savant, you said it too? Gut wrenching for old dog like me. Way too much anxiety! 35 bars later, the same price. Justin admits just a guess when to stop. He decided the single contract up $150 was a good start. Seems at least he is still humble. Important to stay humble when you win. Makes it easier to learn from mistakes by not denying then. The losing is part of the game phase too me quite some time. I can be very stubborn which, is again, egocentric in nature (ie ...I'm a bonehead.) Not as easy as it looks.
New market and atmosphere but some familiar set ups. Tough day for me, terrible headaches. Squeaked out 4/5, on my cell phone, losing fees. Hard roll , egg, bacon, cheese, and a Yoo Hoo, best I could do. Back in the morning.
TraderEX- I have been watching your thread and am very interested. I saw you wrote somewhere on ET that you needed to get a single tic win before you can get two. It didn't sound correct but it does in a strange way. I'm still a paper trader but believe I am ready for live trading. Any suggestions? I've tried your one tic stuff and got binary results. Very good or very bad were my results. Can you explain anything about this?
