  1. Atticus, this is a P&L thread, where are your numbers ??

-416 today..held an overnight loser, gapped down and crapped out..Note to self, don't repeat that bright idea..

  3. Perhaps I was too subtle..again my point is that this is a P&L 2013 journal/forum..Its great that you have a personal journal, but this is not it..You chime in here on others posts but dont contribute your personal numbers; which is actually the point of this forum/journal..so how did you do this week ?

  4. I do post my numbers, as stated, in my journal. It shouldn't be too hard for you to locate, but of course that's not your intention. I see no reason to duplicate posts, but I am up $33k for the month.

I told goose that they (sellindexvol and rallymode) don't trade option flies. The fact is that neither has likely traded option flies in years, if ever. No biggie, but it's akin to relating to the CL spreader that he traded Corn today.

Whether you're incensed or somehow put-off is comical and lacking relevance, but thanks for your opinion, and now you have mine.

My post was on-topic. Goose added color and I commented.

Guys, the reason a mod hasn't stepped in to tell Atticus to back off is because he is a top notch options trader. Please keep that in mind.

Also, I never posted huge numbers on the old threads, but I posted every single day, even if I didn't trade, just for the sake of consistency. That's how it was done then. It was to show others what it was like to be a day trader. To inspire, to show off, whatever...

Threads obviously need to evolve, so do what ever you want. I think the weekly and even monthly ideas are great. Daily p/l can be a distraction. Just be consistent.

  6. I simply commented that they don't trade equity vol. I don't get why feelings are hurt over something so insignificant.

  7. I post daily when it's prudent, up or down. I don't see a point in posting a non interesting number everyday. I have said lets post monthly numbers (I'm at 31ish k), with some color on what we are doing. I like to hear what other trades people are into to see if it's something I can fit it to my own style. So far, January has been an uninteresting month p/l wise for me, and hope it picks up. This is why I'd like to work in some new strats, if anyone would like to share. I'm not selfish, as anyone who has PM'ed can attest to.

No one said you were selfish, goose. But I guess my idea of the p/l thread was to post consistent numbers so others could see your progress as you grow as a trader. If you only post a random number, then who cares. You're missing the point of the thread in the first place.

  9. I will post every daily together at end of month. Thats why I don't post flats or up or down a thousand...will others do same?

The selfish comment was in reference to talking about trades and trading...giving some color to the numbers. At true risk of sounding redundant, it wont give away your edge by telling what you were trading and why--the when is way more important than the why. Just include a couple sentences about what was/wasn't working that day in addition to your number. I think that is much more functional than just posting a number daily w/o any background into what it represents.

Have a good weekend all and good month end.

I agree with you completely. But at the same time, I remember how a guy buy the handle of NORDIK use to post every single day. He usually just posted his blotter. He was a true day trader, and posted his flats, as well as big up and down days. But he was consistent as hell, and it was really inspirational to see how he fought out of slumps.

Same goes for Lescor and Szeven. And many other big p/l guys. It was like they were posting their journey to get there.

But, like Lescor has said in his journal, daily p/l is just noise. Just show some consistency. Good or bad. And most have done that.

Sorry. I'm done being the p/l thread ethics grandpa.
