Several swing/position trading methods require very little time and should bring good absolute returns if one is well capitalised . Almost half of my profits come of such basic system this year (which overperformed the SPY), but i'm not confident it will keep on working that well (it underperforms the spy regulary) and drawdowns can be nasty on methods correlated to the SPY, hence I end up spending quite a bit of time caring abt the markets and looking into new methods - still in the learning curve and running another business , although this year's trading results would have been enough to take care of the family (that's when reversion to the mean in traders performance get worrying :( )

There are defintitely options out there that don't imply trading 12 hours a day, in IB professionnal traders do actually work less than than in other IB branches.

  2. Mac, u continuously miss the the thread rules that go back years upon years....when u quote a profit number..u post a blotter..that's what made this place different than the rest of et. I mean I can say i,'m sitting here with with 3 penthouse pets on my lap as type this...but that is as ridiculous as what you said without a decent pic.

Post a blotter ...technically mods should remove anyone who quotes a number without blotter. This place really went so downhill from the old days.

  3. If you are at capacity and have no OPM percentage gains or drawdowns for that matter are pretty useless.

  5. Right Rollymode. However I think 90% of traders (me included) are not at capacity, so to focus only on daily p/l is not of any value for most of us.

  6. I wasn't aware that there is a rule here to post p/l with a blotter, (I am not here to proof anyone and anyone really curios to verify, could send me PM). I would post a pic this week.

For the reasons I explained I am not posting daily dollar p/l, I consider the daily dollar amount useless, since I am not at capacity. If you guys start posting % gains or losses it would make this thread moch more useful for most of us. Having said that i understand that some might have issues with disclosing their % p/l on a continues basis.

  7. BBBY: Fell from ~56.93 on opening to 54.43 an hour later. Now it's getting back up, maybe to at least 56.00. So if you want to make money (who doesn't? :D) go get it. It's still at 55.35 and steadly growing.

  9. if you do not like the parameters of a thread that has gone on for years...start your own that fits your criteria. et can be a free for all with such incredible nonsense, ego's, lies..etc..here it is so much cleaner. the point is to show "trader p/l" with a blotter.

i really do not think i am being harsh in my opinion here. imo, it's important for the guys who do earn to show that money can be made in trading to those who may be struggling and new.

here is my month to date (after my -$99,000 loss to rally)
