How do we take a screen shot of the Trades window for IB? I hit Prt Scr, and it takes a shot of all my monitors in a tiny lil pic ..
Today was really frustrating. I only lost $5 on seven trades. Started out with a $100 loss. Had a bunch of big winners but didn't lock in those profits. Was trying to ride a rally but didn't work out due to the choppy action in the morning. Then I manage to get in on the last rally but got out to break even only to see it continue. Really frustrating. On the good side there was no big losers besides that 100. My entries were pretty good today. The only thing that sucks were my exits but I have an idea how to execute them. I don't like the idea of trying to riding a trend, so I think I'm gonna go back to scalping as I seem to do really well with that. Also, I failed at trying to create a sleep schedule where I can wake up around 5 AM in the morning. No matter what I do it seems my body does not want to go to sleep early or wake up early. Today I only manage to get 1-2 hrs of sleep and I felt more alert at the opening then in the past couple of days. And as a result I did much better today than last week. Because I can't trade well when I'm feeling tired or groggy I'll need to try this thing call polyphasic sleep and see how it goes. So far, my loss is slowing down. I'm following my sell rules. I know when to enter and when to exit. I should start becoming profitable again soon. Hopefully.
Well, back to the drawing board. I was completely destroyed by the chop in the first 45 mins, a problem compounded by the fact that I jumped a few signals and paid the price for it. What made it worse was after the 4th stop loss in a row, I noobed up and doubled my size. Of course, the market proceeded to stop me out 4 more times again on dbl size. About the consolation is that even after 8 consecutive stop loss, I still managed to pull the trigger (with my original size) and caught that massive trend. A couple of other trades at the end net me a few more points, but those were on smaller size. I think I've lost my cajones to trade by that point. 0.25 pts for today, 17 trades 5 winners 1 break-even. The actual $ p/l is a loss for sure (I don't tally till Friday).
After today, yesterday definitely looks like an "A-" in comparison +$367 I came into the day with a long bias and this negatively influenced how I managed my "schiz flip" trade, and I left the entire move on the table through bias/mismanagement. Had a b/o trade that fizzled and when I tried to exit, I encountered technical difficulties with my platform and consequently was unable to trade the beautiful reversal breakout that fulfilled my long bias. Later-day trade offered my initial target, but I wanted more, ended up taking less and then missed the perfect re-entry signal. Lesson there is leave initial stop and target and watch the profits pour in. (No need to comment, Geezy...)
