Another bad day. I lost $430 on ten trades. I did some revenge trading during pre-market that just didn't work out. Was getting more stressed. Then around the opening I started to shape up and focus on risk. Had to break-even a few times no matter what. My last two trades was where I really start to shine by focusing on my big reward setups. The first trade (or no nine) I was expecting a bounce, but I got nervous b/c the move didn't take off. If I wasn't focusing too much on breaking even I would have never have sold as my main rules didn't say to. After I sold, I left for a break. When I return the market was rallying. I quickly realized what was going on, start focusing on my rules and managed to get in at a pullback near the low and got out at the next big high. Lost a lot today, but still got enough left to work with. I know now what's my problem is. And I know how to fix it. Will be working on my trading over the weekend. I'll post a chart of my last two trades in a little bit.
+$32 Been wanting a day to focus on sim testing some alternate strategies and figured a summer Friday was good as any. I did put on an early CL short for a b/o play, but it fizzled and I closed, and it turned out to be one of those creep-your-way-down-to-target days. Shorted ES, targeting 1074.75 and patiently sat through a whole lot of crawling action with almost no follow through at any point, exiting for a scratch when a possible reversal signal was put in. Never did re-enter the position on the next short signal because I decided to call it a day. Iâm sure it will close for the weekend at 74.75. I did put on 18 sim trades for +$1278. Sim Ferrari, here we come.
-$100.00...........................terrible price action today.......but I got ALL my signals done today...and managed them correctly......any day I can say this is a good day ! Have a great weekend everybody !
Scratched out 1.75 points on the ES. 13 trades 7 winners and 1 blooper that caused me 2 points. Tough day overall for trend following systems, and as much as I hate scaling out, it cut me some slack on the stops today. For the week, I'm up 22.75 points, +18,247. Most of this was from Thursday, when I rode the nice gap close at the open, and the subsequent waves were large enough to net me some decent points. Pretty content overall with my performance, given that I started my (continuing) metamorphosis from a stressful gambler, to a stress-free odds-taker just a few months back (thanks to Anekdoten and Geez, the two coolest and most generous people I've never met).
Lost -$75 on 13 trades. Did poorly at the beginning. Had a big lost at the open trying to go long and not getting out when I should have. Then I spent the rest of the day trying to make it back. Had some winners and some losers. Got out at some small losses. Profits was small too as I didn't let my winners run. Instead I focus too much on trying to lock in whatever little profit was made. There were also some good setup that I could have taken but didn't. Overall today I wanted to practice taking small losses. The max loss was -$200 and that was from the open. The rest of the day was some decent trading that manage to make some of it back. There was too much anxiety while trading. I think today I could've done better but better than last Thurs and Fri. That's an improvement. I need to practice some more on managing risks and taking those good setups. Then I should do fine.
Seeing the P/L thread not getting attention, I thought I'd post. Currently holding a lot, I'll display only the realized P/L. I carry quite a few overnight positions at the moment. 0816: +$580
+10.75 points on the ES, 6 winners, 3 losers, 1 b/e. Missed 2 points from the start - I still havent managed to figure out a consistent way to take the very first signal at the open. Took a gamble on NENG and was once again reminded why not to buy losers: -$1,500
