I closed my Assent account on Monday (good riddance).

I'm moving to a rented office in NYC to trade mostly futures from my IB account.

The Assent December total is posted below - around +9k.

I'm up around +13k in my IB account for December - so the total is around + 22K for December.

+$1,901 net. Think I’m done for the day / month / year. Today was even quieter than yesterday for me. On the up-side I hit a 100% win ratio today (unusual) so the total is respectable.

The year has really flown by and has seen a big evolution for me as a trader. I started the year mainly trading futures but, whilst profitable, suffering from inconsistency . Now I trade stocks. Think I first posted in April to track the performance for my (then new) stock strategy. Much of the year since was spent programming so that I could add more automation to my trading and track more stocks which has been implemented towards the end of this year. Now I live in fear of the inefficiency that I exploit being reduced so the project for Q1 2009 is to develop the next big thing and diversify my trading income.

Anyway, Dec was my best month ever at +$69,200 net - above what I expect my monthly average to be. Total trading p/l for 2008 (mostly trading smaller than I do now) was approx $283k net. Sadly after costs (Bloomberg, etc) and splits, my take-home is somewhat lower. Ho-hum.

Lastly, I want to thank the regular posters on this thread both past and present, none of whom I know personally but who continue to serve as a major source of inspiration to me. Notably RedInk, lescor, PatrickQ, szeven, EricP, mschey, mksummny, etc who have all shown amazing consistency and some unbelievably high daily p/l’s. And, of course, all the other guys who have been posting to this board recently.

Have a great New Year and I’ll see you all on the 2009 board!!

That said and in the spirit of this thread launched by Szeven one year ago, it'd be very nice (and fitting) to see RedInk launch the P&L 2009 thread. Instead of someone random who never posts in this forum starting a new thread, best to have one of the most consistent posters launch the new year correctly.

I'll begin posting every session myself from Friday 01/02 onward. My personal objective is to earn $1 mil or greater inside 2009 trading the TF symbol primarily and ES & EC symbols secondary as seen fit.

That goal will take a daily $$ average of $4,000 x 250 trading sessions. Realistically, it will be met by having several five to six-figure days which offset net-loss days thru the stretch. Maybe a chronicle of day's peak realized gains, max intraday drawdown and # of trades listed along with total profit/loss closed out will entertain, enlighten or both.

In any event, looking forward to starting the new year in this forum, preferably within a thread fittingly launched by RedInk in light of his steady contributions for so long.

  10. +6.00 lol One very quick and very scared trade. :)

Wow. That was a very rough year. Anyone who has followed my posts to this thread can attest to that. Trading looked so easy...man, was I wrong.

I'm going to keep on trucking, though, and vow to keep posting here, good and bad, until I either throw in the towel or make trading my profession.

Red-Ink gets my vote to open the "Trader P/L 2009" thread as well.

Bring on 2009, 'cause it can't be worse than 2008!!! :D
