damn day so tough to trade ... it was either u get shaken out coz it creeps to one's stop loss or you're just completely wrong ... 1st trade was wrong ... and spent whole day trying to get back in the green .... was already flat by 3 but still decided to take a shot at it and ended up against me ... ended the day -181.8784

only traded 120 minutes today- the 1st 110 were fine trading, the last 10 minutes wiped it out- funny how that works...

a pathetic +700 on the day. IB's inconsistent updates means the blotter shows last night as well (total +7057).

    frustrating week/month/year (since march)

  9. Today's net +131.

Last 4 weeks of this particular strategy's trading:

    1-Sep $-
    2-Sep $(1,194.00)
    3-Sep $523.00
    4-Sep $(1,718.00)
    5-Sep $405.00
    Net $(1,984.00)

    8-Sep $471.00
    9-Sep $(351.00)
    10-Sep $(253.00)
    11-Sep $1,912.00
    12-Sep $103.00
    Net $1,882.00

    15-Sep $(672.00)
    16-Sep $689.00
    17-Sep $(1,092.00)
    18-Sep $3,047.00
    19-Sep $143.00
    Net $2,115.00

    22-Sep $716.00
    23-Sep $(80.00)
    24-Sep $239.00
    25-Sep $184.00
    26-Sep $131.00
    Net $1,190.00

    4 Week Total $3,203.00

So far, this strategy is turning out ok given this months craziness. Compared to simulated results over the same time period, this is about 75% of the simulated net. This discrepancy is primarily the result of a critical software failure on Sept. 16 (compliments of TradeStation), otherwise the simulated results match real-world result almost exactly.

Some general notes on this strategy: Position size is $2000 per position (minimum test size) and it averages around 10-20 trades/day and sometimes does 200-300. It is intraday only, 100% automated. I don't check or touch this thing until end of day on most occasions. We'll see how it handles lower vola. next month, but I anticipate scaling this thing up in another few weeks. 1.5 months of real-world testing is still slightly too short of a time period for me to feel confident that all the bugs are fixed.

A slow end to a slow week, statistically October has seen quite a lot of trades. Short selling curb has adversely affected the results for this week.
