Sorry to hear about Anek's parents. With RedInk and MM posting today, I figured I'd post my blotter as well (for the first time since ~Feb). Crazy day with the FNM/FRE and then UAUA news.

austinp: "Seriously, with no exceptions of anyone. Why don't all posts that claim profit results include a blotter that shows volume / contracts and/or best of all, T&S prints? Why would anyone show up here and risk one iota of doubt or being called out?"

No offense, but I think that's a poor idea. First if someone makes 3 trades during the day, then it's no big deal posting the execution window showing the fill times and shares/contract size and prices. However, let's face it, first of all, this can be faked as well, and in addition most traders do a much larger daily trade volume to make posting the individual trades silly. Do you really want to see the 500+ trade prints recorded by MilleniumMan, RedInk or myself today? Also, otherwise solid traders and respected posters would likely not be willing to share even their blotters under those terms, as others could have a better idea of their trading methods and reduce their edge.

"If $100+k profit makes for a decent morning today, who amongst anyone out there would be bashful to show details?" => Count me as one.

Certainly, there is a risk of people posting fake blotters, but those have been shown to be few and far between. There was even a discussion thread ~2 years ago discussing that topic. Even if you suspect that a blotter is fake, why not still believe the blotter, and let it inspire you to achieve better results yourself? That's the way I think this thread should be used, but for each his own.

I've never interacted with Anek and don't have a clue what kind of trader he is, and don't care. I believe his blotter (and don't care if I'm being fooled). In addition, it really doesn't matter to me if anyone believes my occasional blotter either. I post it today merely because it was an interesting day, and to enable me to be able to address this discussion on the thread legitimately.

  5. daniel33,

truly sorry to hear about anek's parents. Now, to few words regarding your post criticizing hermit. I'm sure Hermit never meant to offend anek when he said "I'm calling it BS". Most people in this thread knows Anek is not posting a fake blotter. bottomline - dude, that's just the way he talks. like a joke, u know. He's had a tough summer and he is fighting off some bad days as of late...and he's fighting hard to get back on his feet....and I respect that. afterall, it wasn't too long ago I was in his shoes.

I thank all the big traders in here for posting their blotter and advise, as they have been a source of inspiration to many smaller traders like myself. However, there are traders who post their blotter once in a while....only when they hit a grandslam...just to brag. it's true. this doesn't inspire anyone...it just kills their ego. Some occasional posts are fun to read....like when Keith O'malley nailed CFC for $800K...could you imagine how much he sweated that day? ..and there are other posts like when Lescor finally broke his $1M goal...it reminded me of my ultimate goals when I broke into trading.

bottomline........this is a P&L thread..... u don't got no blotter, there's plenty of other threads to share your thoughts. and you can take that "you're picking on the wrong soul" comment elsewhere. sorry for doubling down on my share of PL Journal.

  6. Flattered with the Sherlock compliment. I have never been confused with an accountant much less a forensic one, that's what I pay good money for, but have never acquired an asset based on gross either.

Yourself, the people you mentioned, lescor and others always posted adequately detailed blotters as you have tonight. Yours is the epitome` of detailed and perfect example of what should be posted here per the "old school" rules. No one is asking for full statements... but how about some contract size, number of trades and even a snippet of one trade open & closed on the T&S sheet when it comes to eminis?

Here's a blotter of mine from Monday's action. It is the ER2 where I bought in the morning, sold in the afternoon. The net loss shown there is 3x worse than what MM posted.

The background of your DOM looks grey - someone posted on another thread that cash accounts have a white background. True?

Maybe. Perhaps the point is, you and everyone else has to guess. You cannot be sure. There is doubt in your mind. Doubt = lack of confidence = lack of inspiration.

Compare this dome to the prior posted. What difference(s) do you see?
