totally nutty week for me finished to the plus side a few hundred for the week after having multi thousand swings up and down thank god for the weekend
hi all, I'm new to ET. not a bad week. friday: +5409 week: +9500-10000(estimate) I'm trying to get familiar here. I'd appreciate it if you guys tell me what instruments and platform you guys use. I'll start: I trade listed stocks and I use Anvil. It sounds like many are gross traders in here. (~sick volume)
Most people here seem to be daytraders. Can anyone give their stats for what % of days are losers, and how much commissions are as a % of gross P&L?
Friday was embarrassing. Guys next to me made their day after the close. +64 No Blotter since I'm away from my machine. That's a good Q Cutten, but I think it needs to be broken down. Alot of guys run an API, or are purely discretionary, or run a hybrid of the two. For myself, I'd say I'm around 80 - 85 %W/L ratio for my API, and quite honestly, probably around 60 % for my occasional quick scalps. But I'd say I'm around 30-35% for my directional trades on the Indexes (Hence the small size). I just can't get it right, and could probably use some guidance. I truly admire the guys who can just trade the futures every day and make a living. And I feel like I need to get there, as the API will eventually lose its effectiveness. I will start posting my fees in my posts also.
Tough week overall. My losses come from longs in select small caps and my dollar long position, the gains from futures short term trading m: 36558 tu: -78605 w: 139179 th: -105722 f: -29950 Net -38540 Basically reversing last week's profits The negativity out there is intense. We should get a tradable bounce soon..., but timing is the hard part of course
Let's stay on topic, fellas. Traded 10:00a-10:30a and hit my modest daily target with BTU. +205.00 for the day +678.08 for the month See you next month.
net -1015 I'm taking time off now to study for the series 55 and to trade on a simulator. Good trading to everyone.
