<i>"Definitely struggling with this market lately..."</i> <b>Thursday</b> was another go-nowhere session for all eminis. Tight-range swings, no direction either way. Had ample chances to breakeven for the session, but held all trades for distance where none existed. I've traded the ER2 since mid-2004, and seen a lot of strange things along the way. This week was one of those. Very erratic tape. Twice I held long positions targeting pivot point tap to exit for +5pts or greater. Each time the ES and NQ hit pivot, ER reversed and came back in my face without tapping pivot. Don't recall that missed magnet ever happening twice in one week while holding open trades. Ceste la vie` seven round turns, -3pts ER2
Friday was a little better. Clear breakout pattern to the long side early, stopped me out for +2pts and promptly ran 7+ in favor afterwards. Caught +4pts downside on the morning drop, was up +5.1pts ER by noon est For those who scoff at "quitting too soon", apparently they've never sat thru an afternoon like this. Someone better call the CME and tell them the ES pit has been gassed. Everyone fell asleep. Played give & take all afternoon in the poppy chop. There went four hours of my life I'll never get back. seven round turns, +5pts cumulative * Mon +3pts ER Tue -4pts ER Wed +9pts ER Thu -3pts ER Fri +5pts ER ------------------- Total: +10pts ER cumulative I've had numerous days bigger than that, a few in the 20pt range. Don't know where the volatility went, but it sure is welcome to return. Very tough sledding Have a great weekend
