Was preoccupied with existing positions early then after getting out of those for BE mostly watched until the Fed. After the Fed I played conservative to the point of being a girlie man. I seem to have gone from one extreme to the other in that regard. Anyway at least I'm ahead on the day, such as it is.
A poor end to the month for me, ending my record daily win streak. The equities strat was fine, if quiet (+495 usd net) but my trial futures strat got blown apart, compounded by some really poor trading by me. Overall down approx 950 usd today. Happy with the month overall though - +11,900 usd net. 1Reason, Nordik, Powerf, Dino, Rocketeer et al - some great trading this month. Pleasure to be on the ride with you all.
Another month of not meeting expectations. I am not happy at all with the results. Over trade most days on too big of a position. All because I set the standard too hi. I finally realized 3 things this past month: 1. My account is not big enough to handle the draw down when I go bigger ER positions. Too many shakeouts because the position is too big. 2. My trading ability/mental state is only good enough for a certain percentage per month. 3. By shooting for too big a gain each month I am putting unnecessary stress on myself to perform and that has negative consequences. There will be no target for next month and I will just trade with the flow. I will trade at the best time of the day which are am and noon sessions. If profits are not there during these times, then that is part of the system. No more trying to take money out of the market when it's not there. Good luck everyone.
Let's trade one emini contract forward, use a +2 (or better) reward / -1 risk ratio holding for handles instead of scalpy ticks and see where we end up. Maybe we'll flame out like many other attempts chronicled in this forum. Maybe not. Tomorrow would have been a logical starting point, but it happens to be opening day of turkey season here in NY. With any luck I'll be neck deep in wild turkey, far from the screens until mid-afternoon. That being the case, we'll use today as our experimental launching point. Traded ER2 solely, couldn't make anything happen pre-fed, waited patiently for the ensuing chop to straighten out, and we summarily took the Russell Express for a south-bound ride. Six turns, +10.5 index points
