Should have made twice what I did today, was all set up short into the last hour and chickened out. Still not much to complain about... Around $29k for the week.
Iâm back after a long sabbatical (10.5 mos) from trading equities. I just stuck my toe back into the water a few weeks ago. And so far I have to say that I like the hybrid market better than the full specialist system. Still getting used to it. I probably wonât post everyday, below are some numbers: 10/25 â 11/7 â grossed between $300 - $700 and a few small down days. 11/8 â gross $1431 on 90,400 shs ~ net $1100 today net ~ $1350
This isn't the toughest day I ever traded... but it ranks within the all-time top ten. I won't even go into how many trades long or short went in favor, got run over, stopped too soon, came back too far, all of that. Volatility is nice, but gyrational violence is something otherwise. July and August volatility was rolling and sweet. Nov volatility has been hairpin turns, gyrational chop and program-slam violence. I've been day trading since late 1999, even the period from 2000 thru 2003 was nothing like this. +3.75pts ES on too many turns. +25pts ES cumulative for the week, could easily be +125pts if half the working trades I held in correct price direction held their #@%& stops. But... beats a losing hand. No losing sessions this week or month (yet), just gross under-performance. Done ranting now, time for a Blue Lite, bottle, no glass. Maybe even have two of them tonight <laugh>
+2500 in the backup account. However, the main account was a different story, couldnt get a thing going all day. Then got clocked at the end on a bad long. Have a good weekend guys.
Another very tough push and pull day today. Should have stopped at 8.45am when I was up 1K trading WB in the premarket. Continued to churn the rest of the day and got nailed on a long in WB at the end of the day. Very tough week. Finished the week at 2.5K.
I will refrain from any commentary today so that Steelhead can start his weekend without any frustrations stemming from my dopey comments!
Traded more carefully today. was GUESSING and HOPING that the market would run up in the last hour. Got caught long. Was able to recover part of the loss by going short at the end. Still did not cut loss quick enough. Not quite in sync with the market yet. Don't have the guts to jump in when the stock moves. I have the bad habit of trying to play the reversal, instead of joining the trend. The instinct of going with the current trend is what I don't have, and need to cultivate. Account took a big hit this week, percentage wise, but glad that I am still in the business and can still trade next week. Learned something this week.
