The main difference between MBA and the rest, is that he only trades the ES. That's a *completely* different game than equity trading. I've been working as a Market Maker in the Dutch option/future pit and I've seen how these guys are making money. They make money because they're in the pit. That's a HUGE advantage. Not being in the pit and/or not having client's order flow and/or not having the buying power to actually influence direction, it's VERY hard to make money on the index, at least, so consistently as he does. When the dutch options/future pit disappeared a while ago and everybody went electronic, profits dropped big time and only the firms with huge client orderflow survived. I know some brilliant traders out there, who really live for trading and are 24/7 working on it. They could not make money consistently like MBA on the index (trading at home). And now there's this relatively new guy, who has made VERY good progress in such a short time and who actually succeeds where everybody else failed ? That's why I *DOUBT* him. Again, not saying it's impossible, but I seriously have my doubts ...
I was wondering why traders on this forum post the end of day P/L blotters with just a raw number of profi and loss? I posted my results from Sept 14, 2007 which included the time of execution as well as the actual prouct etc. I askd this same question about a month ago on the trader 2007 P/L forum and the moderator deleted it... I guess becasue it was in the wrong forum but not sure? Anyway.. why don't traders on this forum popst the actual trades. it takes no more time than copying and pasting your end of day p/l. Traders will tell you that they don't want to post actual trades becasue this is a competition and "someone" on this forum might figure out there method and exploit it. That is a bunch of hogwash.. no one can read a statement and understand the what how why when of a person making a trade. A little feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.
I hope you're joking ? Posting a tradelist would reveal way too much about a traders strategy. Some traders feel that posting numbers alone is already giving away too much info and therefore they choose not to post anything at all. The prop business is a small world ... If somebody starts posting big numbers, you can be sure that others will try to find out what you're doing ...
How can anyone sit here and believe whats on this website? This website is a joke. If folks like Rearden Metal and Steve Tvardek were so successful then why do they come on here to post day and night? Multi-millionaires wasting their time surfing the internet so they can post amongst the likes of Jack Hershey and Tymothy Sykes? There are no legendary traders here just legendary fools who pretend and fake. As for myself, I come on here every once in a while when Im bored and need a good laugh. I laugh at those that truly believe in these internet heros, internet zeros.
It's good you're laughing. Others on this site are laughing when they look at their bank account, realizing guys like you probably would have to work 10 years for what they make in 1
Most of your other posts are very intellgient and well thought-out, but the above listed paragraph isn't really fair. Who is to say what someone else can or cannot do, based on the experience of others. Trust me, life doesn't work like that, and the beauty of being a trader is that no one, and I mean no one can tell you what the fuck to do, how to do it, or when to do it. Until otherwise noted, I'll assume innocent until proven guilty for all the guys (and ladies) who show their kill in the PnL Thread. Good trading, Jimmy Jam
It wouldn't be fair if I'd said it would be impossible, because that I just can not say for sure. I'm just saying I have my doubts, based on my own trading experience and on what I've seen around me for the past 7 years.
Sykes made millions trading out of his dormroom, period. Hershey has shared an extensive amount of information on this website, I'm glad you can't be bothered to read it. There are plenty of trading who show by theory. There are plenty of traders who show by example. The first two traders mentioned fall into the first category (along with many others). The traders who are gracious enough to post in the PnL thread fall into the latter. As for yourself, you're gunning for fruitloop status. JJ
