good start to the month so far. did good today in the accounts. nothing special last month, but was on par. still grinding out the work, to get a couple more automation strategies online. cheers, patrick
echo patrick you don't post for 2 months then come up some bs blotter. the moderator has stated if you don't post daily don't post. at least steve and the rest post daily
Didnt take a snapshot of the blotter today, left at about 11.00am to run errands. Ended up $360.00, nothing great to speak off.
Why would you think his blotter is bs? If everyone had to post every day, we'd soon have no one left posting (almost there now). It's a hassle to post every day, especially if you trade multiple accounts on multiple computers (as Patrick does) and it doesn't really serve much of a point. I haven't posted here in a while either, here's my bs blotter for today. The portfolio account was up another $650, and the automated system was a scratch, but you'll have to take my word for it. I'm not firing up another machine to do a screen capture. <img src=http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=1031717>
I'll vouch for Patrick too. He's for real. Our strategies do overlap somewhat and here's how I did today. Both you and Corey make valid points. But in the end I'd rather have intermittent profitable posters than none at all. It's not a coincidence that the number of regular profitable posters has diminished over time. It's not worth the trouble. It's the main reason I don't post my blotters.
There are a few traders on here who get it done, and if they don't post for a while, they certainly don't owe you or anyone else an explanation. I stopped posting because this thread has become depressing. The great traders get attacked and decide it's no longer worth their time and aggravation, and I certainly am not motivated by the struggling newbies throwing around 100 share lots and trading 1000 shares a day. That's not trading, it's not even making an effort to trade. As for Patrick, he's one who gets it done!
i'm just repeating what the moderator said. he said it was counterproductive for someone to post only now and then when that person has a good day. i think it's much more motivational seeing guys like swing out and pete make $25-$100 a day than some guy coming on here when he has a good day then not post anything for months.
No offense to Swing Out and Pete, but I am not inspired by them. In fact, I wonder why they have chosen this forum rather than starting journals where they can get feedback that might help them up the learning curve. mksummny, Millenium Man, Red Inc, Steve, Szeven, lescor, EchoPatrick, mschey... those are the guys that inspire me. My BS meter has been pretty good at figuring out which intermittent posters are for real and which are not.
I would definatly like to see some new people post everyday. I only have one blotter and its not difficult to copy so i dont find it a hassle to post. Not to mention as i have said this serves as a record keeping system of some sort as it has me save png's of my blotter on the comp everyday. Anyone whos worked at swifttrade probably knows someone who has been dicked around by some bop error. It would be cool i think if, perhaps as a concession of some sorts, those who find it difficult to post everyday post maybe weekly or monthly with a summary of their performance and maybe some commentary on their personal trading or the markets or something. I just like hearing about anything that has to do with trading, and who better to hear it from than people who trade and/or people who make thick dough.
