  3. in and out of the house all day so i didn't make many trades. NYX moved real choppy, but i undertraded it. i shoulda captured more of the range.

MS and JNPR had nasty moves at 2:15, and i cashed in on both. low volume day.

  6. 44.29 on 4408 shares

Exciting day - not like yesterday. On Lend to quote my journal:
"Noticed a possible breakout, but spread about $.10 and no executions at the bid. So, I put in an ask .05 below the current on. I did this to bring the ask down so I could get long. But, someone filled me! So, I was short 1000 shares instead of being long 100!

The breakout did happen, and instead of taking the loss, I managed the position. I got shook out [in the rally] and immediately after I covered, the price dropped $1.00.

Mistake #1 - not exiting short immediately
Mistake #2 - not noticing the "short squeeze" and getting squeezed myself"

  7. $200.00 on 8700

AZPN was taking a huge dump, so I got in. However, like always, I got in too early. I kept buying at key points just KNOWING this thing was coming back. Eventually, the dumping stopped, and the price started creeping back. Again, my jumpy nature took over and I exited at .09 (average in at .0375) when my instincts told me it was gonna go to AT LEAST .15. Even a friend told me to hold on until the .25 range. Well, I wanted to take my profit because at one point I was down about $500.

Hard to find the balance between patience and greediness, no?

I have a finance final this afternoon, so I'm done. Tomorrow I may trade a bit, but I've got to pack. I leave for Santiago, Chile at 1900 hrs! Need a break, for sure.

  9. Probably the most frustrating day of the year... and frankly the total is embarrassing. Profitable in almost every trade, but little things kept screwing me. Hopefully everyone else had a decent day.

  10. Platform went down on me for a few minutes today and I was forced to close all open positions on the phone and missed .30 of a 600 share move.

Note: The customer support with Blackwood was amazing during the outage, they may not be perfect but they are a great bunch of guys and fixed the problem fast.

+500 on 10,800 shares (controlled the overtrading today)

So I'm happy with these results. :)
