#1 husky dog you were rude and arrogant on your responses. #2 i was picking your brain as my commissions are lower than yours i assure you. #3 you've always been secretive on your commissions and your stocks so why would anyone give you info? i'm on here stating facts about high vol trading period not to doubt wether anyone makes money as to be honest i could care less. i'm stating how high vol traders make money nothing more nothing less. you're correct the .005 extra won't make the different between being profitable or not but it willl take a huge % out. i've been trading like this for 6 years so believe what you want. #4 the more shots one takes the more chance at catching the nice winners one has
1) You asked in two sentences what I pay. None of your business. Period. I explained that I didn't feel I had to share what I pay because other people had addressed that topic on this website already. Just use the search function at the top right of the screen if you want to see what is out there. 2) You were picking my brain? I don't know you from a hole in the wall. I wouldn't tell you what I pay anymore than I would tell you my social security number, my credit limit on my credit cards, or any other information that is personal. You then fire back that you assume I pay x for a rate, and that I can get lower. Amused by this, I replied to you that you I never have posted my net numbers and there is no way that you can know what my rate is. You simply cannot assure me of anything. In that pm, you told me that you do about the same volume as I do and that I could do better. Now you are telling Steve T that you do 4x his volume. Steve probably trades a little more volume/month than me. Your stories conflict on this matter. 3) #3 is just laughable. My commission rate and how much I net out are none of you business. Already stated and dealt with. As far as my stock selection goes, see this post: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showt...website, I wouldn't help you anyway. Husky
I didn't think bighitter was being hateful or dissin anybody, just stating some facts. Why so sensative towards what he said?
I always have an exit strategy in place before I get into a position. I don't use a percentage of my account as a stop loss because I am trading with a lot more leverage than a retail guy (I trade prop). I make an educated guess as to what my reasonable risk is for the given trade setup, based on experience, what the current market environment is like, and how well I am currently trading. I'll usually measure my risk for the trade in cents. For example, I know if I am wrong and don't hesitate, I can get out of this trade with a 5 cent risk. If I perceive my out to be farther away, I may mitigate the risk by taking a smaller position and adding right away if the trade works. Or I will pass on the trade. Then the risk I assume becomes a function of how much money in actual dollar terms (as opposed to 5 cents, 10 cents, etc) I think the current trade scenario warrants. I generally look for favorable risk/reward setups. I like to find situations where the r/r ratio is at least 1/2, e.g., if I am risking 5 cents, I have a reasonable expectation of making 10 cents. I'll risk 50 cents in a trade if I have a reasonable expectation of making 1 dollar. Not sure if that is what you were looking for, but I hope that helps a little.
Man no offense, but all you guys trading for a nickel ruin some great moves for traders like me who look for a point at least in each trade. I'd hate to trade all day running around chasing nickels. But that's just me and I know there are thousands of ways to make a living in the market.....
Hi 'killer, Would you mind showing us your blotter from <b>today</b> please? Or would that be difficult to do, since your Sterling software demo has expired? Note: I didn't want to cast the first stone until I was sure beyond all reasonable doubt... and this isn't about me coveting the #1 spot here. I've been standing in Dmitry Balyasny's colossal shadow for most of my career, and I'm fine with that.
Hey Rearden, I have known nysekiller for about 8 months, and although i have no way of verifying his numbers exactly, i would like to at least vouch for his success on a personal basis. It would be an incredibly elaborate and airtight story that i have fallen victim to if he can maintain the consistency of his story for the 8 months i have known him while lying the whole time.
I'm already convinced beyond all reasonable doubt. If 'killer has innocence to prove, there are many ways in which he could do so... but its not going to happen- You'll see.
