ANF Bought 500 @ 70.11 Sole 500 @ 72.20 Profit of $1000 This in the first 40 minutes of trading. I'm done for the day! Have a great day guys!
mnx, i took 1 trade yesterday in the last hour on the merger and lost all of my profits in equties that i had made on the day, as i blew it and did not get the hedge on. i simply tried to read UNH and play PHS. historically UNH is one tuff specialist, and i am sure that trend will continue. today, i have pulled out about 300 bucks on the merger spread, but i am doing very small size. the range is getting tighter, and i am sure tomorrow any intraday range will be gone. patrick
SIE took about $2k from me on the PHS news yesterday. News announcements should be made pre or post market imo.
That could *never* work. What the hell would people be doing during working hours then? Spreading rumors and cheating the crap out of such a rule?
I know it would never happen, but look at the move that PHS had yesterday. How many traders got blown out yesterday because PHS didn't let the exchange know to halt the stock for news pending first? At the very least the SEC should impose a fine against companies that don't let exchanges know there is news pending. The halt system does have a purpose. Not to mention, the ECN's were trading long after NY had the stock halted. It was a mess. Those guys buying up at 82-83 were in a for a world of hurt when it re-opened at 78.
is there any reason that guys buying a stock already up big on rumors should not get their head handed to them at times? when you chase momentum sometimes you get run over.
I quit trading the healthcare stocks a while back 'cause they're *really* crooked in that sector for some reason. Full of fake intraday moves. All the daily movements occur overnight after these crooked specialists load up on some stock and then gap them higher/lower to scam the crap out of traders. F_ck them!
I agree, there was no reason to be buying up there unless they were covering shorts. I feel sorry for those who were short before the news broke, but not those speculating in the 80's.
I like this P/L forum walk the walk thing so I'm going to post mine for the day. Yesterday I lost $600 but today is better since there was some news to trade. I think my net is around $2k in this picture but it was in the middle of the day and i'm not up much more atm... missed a huge move
