finished the week on par in equities - nothing special but i will take the 1k+ daily until i can figure out how to increase that 3 x like some of the traders here on this thread. nice job, and thanks for the motivation. 3 for 6 on EUR & JPY today so basically BE, yet i am still comfortable with the strategy as the win rate is consistent. will look to go to 2 contracts soon. see ya next week, patrick
I haven't bothered posting daily results here, but since i'm beyond bored today here's my June blotter. Not impressive compared to some of you guys, but overall a decent month.
Looks like a big chunck of Profit came on 6/30. Did you do something diferent that day or did everything line up right? Nice job.
if this is net of commish this is awesome, only a few -and small- losing days, very impressive again.
there is one thing though I wonder Dustin tickets : is that the # of trades? so you make like a hundred trades + per day, I assume you pay $10/trade, you never lost more than 1K that means you never had a losing day !!! when commissions are not factored in. That 's incredible>
Yesterday was just a good day because the Fed got the market to move more than the average day. My trading is 80%+ automated entries so I didn't do much different. Yes, the numbers are net of comms. I posted the left side of the blotter to include all fees. (ET won't let me post the entire page due to file size) BTW I also get a monthly rebate so for June add about $1k to the total.
well I guess you pay more like $5 a trade per 1000 (looked at # of shares), even then you seem to have had all positive days before commish what is your hit rate : 85% and most of the rest is break even or what ? mostly OO orders aswell ?
I just play very high probability setups, no OO's at this time although I am currently getting an OPG program created. Not sure of the % winners, but the 80%+- is about right. Keeping losers small is key.
so what tools do I need to trade like this ? can you do it from home? cutting the numbers of trades to 20-30 (can't see myself do more than that since I want to trade other markets) and the share size to 300-500, depending on the issue? I would love to add some trading in stocks to my mix. what is your average holding time and profit per share?
and how do you keep losers small (or to 0 I guess ) everyday? I sometimes trade or look at stocks like GOOG and CME, would be scared to trade more than 200 shares you can buy then 5 sec later the bid dropped 35 cents, and sometimes you just know the quotes are behind, the spread changes all the time it's not fixed like in futures. Hear you can't rely on the book so how do you manage such risk and your exit ? You may not trade this kind of stocks but you probably trade stocks that show up on your scan without being used to their behaviour. How do you trade 1000 shares or more in those stocks you don't know well?
