    Hi,
Here is my trading summary for the month.
It is interesting to see what is happening to a struggling day trader here: the problems, the huge efforts, and tiny gains, and long-term goals...

    Have a nice weekend.

    The whole trading records attached.

    Summary of Sept
    ---------------

A winning month. However it is very disappointing as compared to back-testing results for the past month.
See the whole trades for the month.

    P/L: $768.29
    Commissions: $276.70
    Net P/L: $491.59 long: $301.01 short: $190.78

    Details
    -------

Number of trades: 157 long: 138 short: 18
    winning trades: 113 long: 100 short: 13
    losing trades: 44 long: 38 short: 6
    winning ratio: 72.% long: 72.% short: 72.%
    P/L per trade: $4.89
    Net P/L per trade: $3.13 long: $2.18 short: $10.60
Best Trade: $70.26 (long EQIX on 20050928)
Worst Trade: -172.09 (long HZO on 20050920)
    Number of shares: 12920

Performance (points per trade): 0.1042 long: 0.0727 short: 0.3533

    BackTest Performance for Sept
    -----------------------------

Nasdaq stocks: long 0.85 short: 1.35 (points per trade)
NYSE stocks: long 0.45 short: 1.18 (points per trade)

    Problem
    -------

    1. Playing average down (losing $600.00 on Sept 20) and hit hard; A problem happens a few times a year.
    2. Prematurely exit (missing many huge gains); tend to take small gains but hold losses;
    My strategies simply tells to exit around 10 mins before the market close no matter how much win or lose;
More worse, always hit by big losses. I need to work hard to find a solution (to control my emotion).

    Plan for October
    ----------------

    Still play small.
Stick to all my rules and only trade in my strategies.
Hope to get close to the backtesting performance.

Short term goal: get strictly disciplined.
Long term goal: 2k per day:) :) :)

  3. Thats what I mean about min standard, at least its something and I think it does prove a tiny bit more than just stating a number.

  7. well here it is guys....the first loss in over 4 months. DPH WTF was that truck that smacked me, which way did he come from. Went from up 4k to down 4k in a matter of minutes. I tried to hold the fort at 3.05 with a 75k bid and got run over, let it go as fast as I could glad I did though. Tried working my way out of it today but LU just would no cooperate and I sure as hell was not going back to DPH. Just goes to show that I do take losses, once and awhile.

Here is a lesson for you newbies, when you are up your daily goal, shut it down and wait for another day. I should of never of tangled in DPH with that size on that momentum, it was nuts, but good lesson reinforced today.

  8. Come back when you actually *realize* any profits! Anybody can post BS like that simply by having 2 accounts with opposing positions. Only the profitable acct gets posted, dumb newbies are fooled and bullshitters get a good laugh. If you want to make a more sincere effort, at least post the individual trade blotter and/or the acct balance otherwise no need to post more ''caca''.

  9. I was wondering how long it would take for someone to respond with a negative post.
First of all, all profits are realized in this case. Sometimes I do hold positions overnight, and when I do, the P&L I post will be marked-to-market.
I've seen the hostility some people have directed towards mksummny, (whose results I believe are legit since
I have seen others with similar profitability and consistency). I know that there are some people out there who will never be satisfied, but I am willing to provide any reasonable further evidence of the P&Ls that I post.
Risktaker, if you want an individual trade blotter, I can give it to you. I do not see others giving their individual trade blotters, but I don't mind doing it
a few times. As for the account balance, I don't see anyone else giving that information, and I am not comfortable giving that either. Plus, I am sure if I did, you would simply say
    that I doctored the number.
I should also mention that I am nowhere near as consistently profitable as mksummny, MR.NBBO, or others. Although I am having a very good month, I do occasionally have the large down day. I try to be profitable every month, and I am usually successful at this.
So far, most of the posters that post are stock traders that are very consistent. Most futures traders/scalpers are not as consistent, but the strategies tend to be more scalable.
One of the reasons I have decided to post my daily P&L is because
I think it will help me to limit the damage on losing days because of the embarrassment I will feel posting it to this board. We'll see. :)

  10. risktaker,

It is too late for me to cut and past from
IB's TWS, since it won't let me log on.
As soon as friday's statement is emailed to me (sunday, I believe), I will cut and paste
the individual trades for friday here on ET.
