I have been considering switching from trading from home to an investment bank or a prop firm. Can anybody explain to me what exactly trader assistants do at large investment banks. Are they the guys who make coffee for traders or do their responsibilities include something more substantial?
Assistants on the trading floor range from clerks to order execution professionals. Mostly they will keep track of open orders, net positions, track live pricing, and that sort of thing. It is a good way to get into the business from the professional side. IMO
